The concept of ANZAC day footy is faily new for the NRL. Is that the first time its been on FTA TV? It will grow.

Be a rating of 1.6 million at least for the Essendon/Collingwood match.

It's been around a while, but mainly shown on PTV . Last year they got just under 400k on PTV . this years match was very one sided though.

They've had it for years. The low ratings indicate people just weren't interested in the game and were more interested in the AFL.

Well, lets compare ANZAC day for both codes. Both had an afternoon game on FTA in heartland, and an evening game on PTV in an expansion market. Fair comparison?

AFL:
Total TV ratings: 940k FTA metro + 313k FTA regional + 386k PTV + 346k PTV = 1.985m

NRL:

Total TV ratings: 531k metro FTA + 354k regional FTA + 306 PTV = 1.191m

Yeah those matches happen. 300k is ok on PTV for 2 non heartland teams on PTV and the FTA ratings will only grow with the great product that is RL.

It's just one nRL game on tonight. In theory tonight should be another great comparison of both codes ratings.
Only downer is that the AFL game is on at 8.45pm in the eastern states against nRL prime time 7.45pm.

How long has the AFL had Anzac day game on FTA?

Now how long has the NRL had Anzac day game on FTA?

First year for NRL and each yea this will grow larger.

Eel don't forget the nRL game started at 4pm which is a better timeslot for ratings than the AFLs 2.40

And FTA this was the first time NRL had coverage on Anzac day, explains why the ratings were so Low.

Fri TV #NRL #NRLMANSOU Nine 690k (Syd 429k Bri 261k) GEM 58k (Mel 40k Ade 4k Per 14k) 748

Friday night everybody knows the NRL is on and explains why the ratings are so good.
