Funny, the rl attendance site says 275k attended Swans home games.
201k attended Swans finals matches.

And aren't you guys forgetting something?

Well?

That same rl site says 150k attened GWS home games.

Puts the nrl total into perspective.

.
Nice try Cos.

Lets compare 2013 revenue now that we have the AFL 2012 revenue and the predicted NRL revenue from the NRL chairman himself. So for this year AFL revenue 425 million, lets say it doesnt go up next year compared to the NRL 284 million (2013 projected NRL revenue).
So whats that 141 million dolars difference? Might be around 150 million a year more revenue with a little more money comming AFL's way. Didnt Radierdave make a prediction about this?

For 2012 the difference would have been closer to 250 million with the AFL revenue more then double NRL revenue.

hmmmmmm

so the VFL got an extra 100 million last year from TV revenue alone
& only announced a 6.7 Million dollar profit

8-[

now
they lost 24 million in 2011 , so taking that into account it cost them 69 Million to run their 2 new clubs last year assuming this is where all the costs went & I'd say most of it would have.

F me
what a disaster
VFL fans have a right to ask what the hell did they spend this money on ?
imagine this 70 mill being put into the existing 16 clubs ... or the ones that need it most anyway .. & theres plenty that are broke & struggling big time

instead of 2 oxygen theive outfits who add nothing to the comp & indeed are embarrasments
wow
just wow

For the trillionth time, the AFL is a not for profit organisation you dunce! The extra money they make goes into the growth of the game at all levels.

All this money the AFL is spending and yet they're still making profits. Wow, the AFL is raking in the $.

Keep telling yourself that it's money down the drain. Keep desperteley hoping that both expansion clubs will fail to take hold, and the big bad AFL will have to retreat with its tail between its legs back down South, licking its wounds and cursing the superiority of the nRL as bitter tears stream down its face.

The short-term vision of your code and its followers amuses me. Who cares if kids can't attend night games on Thursday, Sunday or Monday nights, developing an attendance culture doesn't matter, look at those TV ratings! Kids whose families can't afford Foxtel don't get to see their team play every week? Who cares, look at all this money!

The Swans were a rabble when they started, with crowds lower than what the Giants had last year. They've now been the highest drawing team across all codes in Sydney for 18 years in a row. Imagine if the AFL had listened to ********* like you and withdrawn. Same for Brisbane, who were a rabble, and then went on to outdraw the Broncos during their threepeat years.

So enjoy your delusion of AFL failure while it lasts. The rest of us have our eyes fimly on the future.

the existing clubs have a right to know why these latest sides were needed when there are so many clubs unable to balance their books
when the talent pool wasn't ready & this has impacted badly on the quality of the comp
no one watches your sport in NSW & QLD still after 5 premierships were gifted to the sides that play there

you still have the swines on a higher salary cap 30 years on & I can assure you the Midgets will be too in 30 years time
when the same benefits were taken away from the wions .... they stopped being good on field & lost shitloads of money
no
these are simply ... keeping these teams competitive artifically & anyone with half a brain can see the populous of these 2 nthn states haven't fallen for this sham.

the future ?
well why would the next 30 years be any different from the last
so with so much failure
why start up 2 more sides in these states
has the VFL not learnt from its egotistical driven mistakes in the last 30 years
well ova 100 million lost in the last 2 years
the clubs & fans need to stand up & say enough

this is our game
we want our clubs to all be on a level footing
no draft preferences
no extra money in the salary cap

sink or swim ...

phhtttttt.... what am I saying

the 4 sides in NSW & QLD would fold tomorrow if this were to happen

VFL a national game
my ass it is
