Almost 3,000 Canberra residents have signed up to be GIANTS members for 2013, taking the overall tally to 8,900, which is 5,500 better than last season.
Good to see the increase coming from Western Sydney.

Rubbish!

Richmond are a sleeping giant. Their support is nothing compared to what will happen if they ever actually succeed. Then you will see real support!

Might not have a decent comp? 8-[

2012 was one of the best season in a long time, much better than 2011. To top it off the GF was a classic whilst the nRL's was a snore fest much like every other game from that amateur suburban league. And to think that GWS and Gold Coast are only going to improve as well.

thats akin to saying Poort Poohsalot had a good season financially

the VFL season was the lowest quality ... lowest standard ... in living memory
& thats according to many VFL pundits ...

it was beyond appalling
with sooooo many mediocre sides stinking up the joint .... the gap between the good & the bad ... has never been wider & it threw up a woeful comp as a result

meanwhile we had our eventual wooden spooner thumping our eventual premier in the H&A .. in our regular season ( 16th beating 1st at the time)
showing the NRL was a high quality ... EVEN ...comp

NRL.... thumbs up . great season

It shows that they're passionate about football you dumbfuck. Twist it however you like but you know it's the truth. I can't wait until the Storm fail for a few years. Crowds will plummet.

Typical NRL fan! Too cold, too hot, too far, too sunny, too wet, too stupid....

Supporters support their club. NRL fans are viewers only.

You think 40k members is big, and rewarding mediocrity? Wait til they get 65k when they make the 8!

Perhaps it's a different mentality up in Rugby League, but in Australian Rules you support the jumper, not the meat-sack that's wearing it that day.

So your solution to improving a teams performance is to stop supporting them?

Less members = less revenue = less budget for football department.......

while the VFL has so much mediocre ... so much average
theres no incentive to succeed
theres sooooo many dumb shits who follow us regardless .... we don't need to succeed .. I mean It'd be nice .. but not essential like it is in the results driven NRL

So the bottom teams shouldn't have any fans turn up, play in completely empty stadiums, reduce their football spending by millions, lose sponsors.......

Fail...

The best teams currently are Geelong, stkilda, Collingwood, west coast, hawthorn. in the mid 2000's they were all basket cases.

Seems like fan support worked for them ******!
