When the NRL is compared to the AFL the AFL wins easily.
When ARL is compared to the AFL the AFL still wins becasue every AFL fan counted in the cumulative total watches for 50% longer meaning the AFL is easily the most watched sport on TV.![]()

This was in 2009, our Toyota cup ratings have gone up since. So if i were to add a average of 60k per Toyota cup match which is were the average is at in 2012 if not more.Canberra goes on raid for under 20 sponsor
For sale. For $150,000 this piece of real estate with wide green surroundings could be yours. That’s the same price as a kiosk at the Tuggeranong Hyperdome or a small bedsit in Woden.
The Canberra Raiders have embarked on a nationwide search to find a new sponsor for their Toyota Cup under 20s team.
Raiders chief executive Don Furner believes the asking price is a bargain considering the surprisingly high ratings the Toyota Cup has attracted on Fox Sports since its inception two years ago.
In 2009 an average of 46,000 viewers watched the weekly live Toyota Cup games on Fox Sports, with the Raiders on the more popular end of the scale, having featured in three of the top 10 games throughout the season.
The year before the Raiders featured in 16 live games, attracting a total audience of 704,000 viewers as they went on to win the premiership.
Furner said he hoped to have a new sponsor locked in within the next fortnight.
“I’d love to have someone in place for the first home game on March 22” Furner said.
“Absolutely it’s worthwhile. The rating on Fox for a lot of the Toyota Cup games out rated a lot of A League soccer games and out rated some Super 14 rugby union games. You’re talking about more people turning into a junior competition than a senior competition. I’m not having a go at the other sports. I’m talking about how popular the Toyota Cup brand is and how much people have got an appetite for it and a familiarisation with it. They recognise a Raiders jersey or a Broncos jersey.”
The Raiders Toyota Cup team won the inaugural premiership in 2008 before falling one game short of another grand final appearance last year.
Six Toyota Cup graduates – Josh Dugan, Daniel Vidot, Jarrod Croker, Joel Thompson, Travis Waddell and Shaun Fensom – are in the Raiders’ extended squad for today’s round one NRL clash with Penrith.
Despite this the Raiders’ major sponsor CFMEU has opted to only feature on the club’s NRL jersey for the next three seasons.
Furner said that opened up an exciting opportunity for another business to step in.
“It’s the only junior competition in Australia to get pay TV coverage” he said.
“The ratings have shown that there’s a huge appetite for the NRL and people like to watch the future stars coming through. They associate themselves with the brand and the jersey, so they want to watch the Raiders juniors.”
The Raiders Toyota Cup team kicks off its campaign against the Penrith Panthers at CUA Stadium at 5.15pm.

Yeah as you can see by our TV deals...1.3b-1.38b potentially compared to 1.25b for the AFL, our product is worth more per Hour so it does not matter that your game goes for longer our Code is just more valuable Per minute per hour Per year...... =D> =D> =D> .Xman wrote:You keep forgetting eels that every AFL rating is worth 1.5 NRL rating.
