If you include ratings outside the NRL comp then you must include all foxtel VFL, safl WAFL, tfl, brownlow, legends games, foxtel repeats, everything

AFL beats NRL. The rest is speculation only.

So the TV networks payed the NRL more TV money then the AFL.

Question, what did they pay the NRL for?
Answer, SOO, NRL, rep league Allstars game, Tests.

So logic tells you that NRL is getting substantial revenue from these Forms of the Game.

AFL has the AFL comp that is all the networks are paying you for so logic tells you that you have

1. NRL 133m viewers. 8 broadcasts a week + rep season.
2. AFL 122m viewers and that is with simulcast which = 13 separate broadcasts a week. were to from here for the AFL........ :?: :?:

NRL number 1 baby........... =D> =D>

Want a Tissue Xturd................
Well for staters the AFLs games are all concurrent except Friday night, therefore meaning there are actually only 5-6 individual games available for viewers to watch. The NRL have more with 7-8 individual games. Add to that they show their most popular team almost every FN despite the damage it does in poor exposure to teams like the raiders.

Secondly, the article this year showed the AFL smashed the NRL with 123m v 113m viewers =D> http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/r ... 6525246762

Including all other RL games is fine but then you need to do the same for the AFL and include all our shows on FTa and fox. Given fox footy was the number 1 pay station all year I'd say it would be a slaughter.

Thirdly, the NRLs TV deal hasn't been finalised yet dope. At the moment the AFL have a healthy lead =D>

So sorry to disappoint there eels
What a load of crapola from you once again. that article is only for NRL, does not included SOO or rep games.......you lost deal with it and we also have a bigger TV deal now.........

Oops look what i found....................
"We've invested $220 million in the two new clubs (GWS and Gold Coast) over six years and on top of that $20 million a year each in AFLNSW and AFLQueensland. That combines to be in excess of $200 million in each state," Demetriou said.

Wow so its is costing 400m for your expansion teams.

All this money being pissed down the drain it seems, only 1 draft pick from NSW and QLD to show for it......

NRL 1.3B-1.38b for TV deal
AFL 1.250 now take away for these expansion costs for both these teams and you sit well below the NRL's Tv deal....

so now youre including grass roots development in the cost of new teams? :-k desperate much? Not that that has anything to do with it. News ltd fork out 15m per year for the storm. Your futures fund will be near 200m also. #-o

Again, the AFL beat the NRL easily despite less games. the only way you can win is to include other RL events. Fine, but include all ARs programs too

And if youre going to include naming rights in your total for the NRLs deals then include the AFLs too, plus radio. :D

End of....

Raiderdave if you're going to include Telstra's naming rights sponsorship along with their internet/phone rights worth about $100m in total, please include Toyota's naming rights sponsorship of the AFL as well.

According to RL supporters RL as a competition got a total of 133 million viewers (made up stats). Why dont you wait for them to put out a report before you assume. At this stage the AFL season came out about 10 million in front of the NRL season in OZ and that is all you can say. Im sure they will do a Game V Game comparison soon. Just for the record how many hours of viewing would the AFL competition be ahead as well? It would have to be at least 150 million viewer hours at the least.  AFL the most watched (no denying it most hours watched) competition in the country by a long way.

very true. =D>

An AFL game telecast goes for 50% longer than an NRL game. Therefore if youre looking at true ratings the length of telecast should be taken into consideration. The AFL's 123M viewers watch for 3 hours and simply crush any NRL or RL tally. The result is 369M viewer hours compared to a meagre 226M viewer hours for the NRL.

AFL, easily the number one watched sport in Australia! A smashing! =D> =D>

Cricket doesnt get watched because it is not on prime time, so im not sure why you have brought cricket into this argument.

There are many ways to look at TV stats. In terms of people watching the games (reach) AFL has RL covered. In terms of viewing hours AFL has RL covered. Im not sure what your 147 million hour broadcast exactly means but it is about the only stat that RL wins (if it is a correct stat) and im not sure what to compare that to. Because then we have to add the many AFL comps together or at least the preseason comp to the numbers. AFL still gets more money overall not just in OZ but in OZ and NZ for TV/online/radio and naming rights, theres not much accurate from what I have seen that you have posted lately. At least I havent seen any facts or links to back up your claims.

ah no. If youre looking for the most watched sporting program on TV the AFL has 123M people watching for a total of 3 hrs, while the NRL has 113M watching for only 2 hours.

What an absolute drubbing! AFL leading the way in everything =D>

Your theory does not hold water Pies, it might have before 2012 but now that the NRL TV deals is about to surpass or at worst equal the AFL tv deal your hours per viewer rubbish does not work.

And you are now starting to get desperate with the angle you are taking.

The NRL/RL is going to be paid huge TV deals for NRL, Tests, SOO, All Stars and Sky NZ is going to pay for all these things also. When you add these viewers together it totally smashes the AFL with ease. 147million viewers across those two countries/networks and a 1.3-1.38billion TV deal potentially.

What did the Seven/Fox network pay the AFL for? The AFL competition that is all, and it = 123m viewers at 1.25billion dollars + Naming rights which is yet to be finalized.

How hard is it for you sore losers to come to grips that a 3 state game (NSW,QLD,AUCKLAND) has just handed you guys a ass wooping in TV ratings and in TV dollars............. :?: :?:

Find ONE source that shows you're getting that much money. What's that... you can't? #-o

The nRL didn't even realease the final value of the Telstra naming rights + internet/phone rights deal. Wanna know why? Because in comparison to Telstra's AFL deal where they are not the naming rights holder of the comp, it still trounces what the nRL got from Telstra. Add in Toyota's deal to the AFL deal and the AFL just goes further ahead of the nRL.

I've heard Sky NZ say that don't want to pay anymore than $14 m a year for the bogans version of real rugby so good luck catching up to the AFL with that
