Essendon has released its 2012 financial report with total assets of 42 million and 12 million in cash and cash equivalents. About 20 percent bigger then the Broncos with total assets of 32.5 million which was their 2011 report.

http://www.essendonfc.com.au/club/EFC_a ... t_2012.pdf page 10.
So what your telling me Pies is that the Bombers are a bigger club then the Pies................. :-k

Who would have thought that memberships did not equate to being number 1 sporting club in the nation....

You have just proven that the Pies are not number 1, well done.....

Poor Pies gets shot down and proceeds to move the gold posts... =D>

You and QAFL just made yourselves look like fools.......Lions bigger then the Broncos....  .......Hawthorn have a rumoured 20 million in the bank..... more then the broncos.........

Go on Pies when you have lost debate move the posts i want look......

Whats wrong did I show that the broncos dont have the most money and assets for a sporting club in the country? Does it really matter? THe Broncos and the Pies have yet to put out their 2012 financial reports so they may have more assets and or cash in the bank.
I would be the first to admit that I am not a business man and all I did was repeat a rumour from a Roar article that Hawthorn had 20 million dollars in the bank (hence the word rumour because I wasnt sure). Sorry if I was wrong but Dave was also wrong and the Hawks have 6.5 million in cash according to this report. That makes him a fool as well according to you. =D> =D>

http://www.hawthornfc.com.au/portals/0/ ... 12_Web.pdf see page 14
No You clearly over reacted to me putting your boy QAFL in his place after saying the Lions are bigger then the Broncos. This was never about any other club mate, so next time if you want to rush in and defend your AFL fans on this site just make sure it is worth defending...

Oh and about the rumor of 20million...........  that is all, its a bloody rumor. Since when did you follow rumors and pass them off as fact?

Your just cut because raider shot you down is that why you have moved to goal posts Pies..? :?:

http://www.essendonfc.com.au/club/EFC_a ... t_2012.pdf

Page 6
During the year the club recognised $11,944,107 in grants and
donations received in relation to the development of the High
Performance Centre. Included in leasehold improvements at 31
October 2012 was an amount of $5,485,002 which had been
expended to that date on the development of the new facility.
And also btw the Bombers cash in the bank of 12m is from grants given not what they have earned themselves.....................busted and shot down once more Pies...

Who is QAFL to me? I dont known the guy. This thread is about membership, its not about money, so its about all clubs, not just the Lions and Broncos.
I put the word rumour in front of 20 million for a reason (think about who I was talking to its not like he ever uses references for anything). How can I be passing it on as fact if I use the word rumour in front of it? I think you are overreacting to this one. Does it matter?
The bombers did recieve govenment funding for their new training facilities. How does this become money in the bank it was used to build the training grounds? You are making assumptions and I dont think you know what you are talking about. Your starting to sound as ignorant as you are claiming that I am. Oh no you shot me down (on the internet) im devastated.....
You were fine until I showed that the Broncos were not the biggest club financially in OZ. Was that what set you off?

Nothing has set me off, you got cought out again. The Bombers were given 12m in grants so really they have Nada in there bank account.

The Broncos Business model has allowed them to amass cash of over 14m and 35m in assets all in 24 years, the Bombers have been given handouts by government and others and the club was formed in 1871. They have taken a good 100+ years to amass there wealth, i know what club i would invest in that's for sure.

You are correct this thread is about memberships but when you have your cheerleaders saying shit like the Lions are bigger then the Broncos don't expect me to stand idle and let him get away with outrages statements... :-k

Then you came to his defense with a statement like its rumored that so and so have 20million in the bank, Then Raider shot you down and now your mad......

Then you moved the goal posts and said the bombers have 12million in cash savings and are bigger then the Broncos. Then i shot you down also and showed you it was all grants from the government...now your mad again i bet.... =D>

Btw so it looks like your club the Pies still just might be the biggest AFL club in the land congrats.... =D>

Im not going to argue with you about who powned who, its all subjective (although you have powned yourself with your Essendon statements and your interputation of the word rumour). I think you need to get a dictionary and learn the difference between the word rumour and fact.  Did you even see my final post Dave couldnt even get the figure right and he didnt use the word rumour in front.
You are making another stuff up again with your essendon comments. You statement that Essendon took the grants and donations for a training facility which will be used by the players and the community and stuck them in the bank to make their bank balance look bigger is just ridiculous. Your better then that. Get your act together. You cant take money from the govenment which is payed for one thing and stick it in the bank, you would go to jail for a long time.
As for the Pies, they are a big club with lots of members and supporters (probably the most in the country). They have good finances but in the past they have been dirt poor and even in recent years have had issues losing money in bad investments such as poorly run clubs and pubs. During the poor times they have really struggled probabaly very similar to Parramatta. You have shown that the Broncos are financially bigger then them although that may change very soon in the future. Melbourne has always had the big 4 clubs (Collingwood, Essendon, Carlton and Richmond) all who have claimed to be the biggest club in the land at some stage over the last 40 years. At the moment in terms of members and supproters Collingwood is the biggest but that could all change if some of the other clubs or even a club like Parramatta get some success happening.

Richmond 22,637 and targeting 60,000 for 2013. Not bad for a club who has only made the finals twice in the last 30 years.
