I was speaking about the total aggregate crowd you minda. AFL average crowd below 30,000?
Next year is the beginning of the crowd resurrection Raiderdave. With the Suns now improving, interest in the quality of matches involving them will increase and with it the crowds. The Simonds Stadium redevelopment will be completed, meaning Geelong's home games there won't have a 22,000 limit on them, rather a 34,500 capacity. It will be the last year at Football Park in Adelaide, this could create some interest at the hole of a ground but maybe only for the last couple of games there, still an increase is on the cards at the venue.
And then there's 2014 where the big increase will come. Watch out Raiderdave, 2012 is as low as the AFL is gonna go

- a number of grounds under renovations
- live games against the gate for every match for the first time
- new teams with developing lists
- more games than ever in nsw qld and Tasmania
Next year will be an improvement and the following year the Adelaide oval will be ready. After that the giants and suns will be decent sides resulting in better crowds. After that the new wa stadium will be near ready.
It's all up from here.

And then again in 2018 with Perth Stadium. WCE could easily have a 50,000 average crowd, quite amazing for a team that only plays another team in their own state once as a home game.

The suns are improving! That's a funny one stewie

Raider says some very pertinent messages re crowds here and it will be interesting to see if the AFL crowds drop another 200,000 this year. I tend to believe dave here. The quality of the comp has been at an all time low. I mean who wants to watch melb play? Port adelaide? Western bulldogs? Suns? GWS? Brisbane? Not only are their fans turning away but so are the opposing teams fans. I mean its a dead rubber. Me for example. As much as I love watching brisbane lose, I'm not gunna go watch the swans play em because its a foregone conclusion. 1 less fan at the game and I'm 100% confident there's atleast 500 others who would make exactly the same decision come the swans lions game in sydney 2013.
Xman, stewie please feel free to respond and I'll drop another turd on you afterwards but how's about we get this thread back on track aswell? So ahhhh its because russel crowe is leaving that the bunnies are in all sorts of trouble?

Another 3,500 per game is all that's needed eh? As if that is ever likely to be achieved.

On field performances this year saw Gold Coast, Port Adelaide and Brisbane all improve. Those sides should all see growth in crowd numbers next year. Swans fans won't care about this "foregone conclusion" as they've just won the premiership and crowds will be out in force to see them play.King-Eliagh wrote:
