The very fact that you are reading this item suggests you know how to find and navigate your way around afl.com.au.
And the latest research shows that you're not alone. In fact, football supporters are coming to the AFL-Telstra Network in record numbers.
The AFL over the past two years has been increasing growth in many areas- crowd figures are already 10.3 percent up versus the same time last year.
Club membership, participation, TV and radio ratings are improving year on year, however the AFL-Telstra Network has also generated terrific increases in popularity, far surpassing that of any rival sporting code’s website for overall traffic in Australia.
According to Nielsen NetRaings, traffic for the AFL-Telstra Network in 2005 is up by a very healthy 28 per cent on figures for 2004. Throughout May, a weekly average of 521,379 unique visitors logged-on compared to 400,000 in May last year.
Figures show that supporters are not just going to one or two favourite sections but have found plenty of variety across the AFL-Telstra Network as well, with an average of 6.3 million page impressions per week during May.
Where the AFL-Telstra Network attracted 528,939 unique users in the fourth survey week in May, nrl.com.au - boosted by the opening match of the State of Origin series - recorded peak figures for the year so far of 215, 677 – a distant second to the AFL-Tesltra Network.

AFL Clearly the Most Popular Code In Australia
Hits on the afl.com.au clearly show the AFL is more popular than the NRL on the world wide web. nrl.com.au comes in a distant second even with the SoO artificially increasing hits on the site. Never in doubt really was it.
