Which sports fans are the worst?
Re: Which sports fans are the worst?
Please pull your head in, Warrior. That's old.
And again, KE, you are only linking notable incidents. Adding the non notable ones will heavily tip the scales back towards parity.

What are you on about with 'notable' and 'non-notable' incidents TLPG? Seriously, are you inhaling your own methane instead of oxygen each morn?

Using wiki as a link has failed you before. Remember the TV ratings for SOO you claimed? They included regionals for the latest SOO but not for any other game on the list!King-Eliagh wrote:Piesman fair call about the soccer and hooliganism, I agree. And fair call number of AFL/VFL fans at the ground compared to RL/NRL but that really doesnt nearly make up for the number of incidents which have occurred in AFL/VFL crowds as compared to RL. You can say the word 'passion' till your great grandfather gets an erection. Fact is there's high levels of passion for both codes and 'passion' doesnt excuse shocking behaviour.
AFL/VFL incidents appear to outrate RL/NRL incidents about 7 to 1 on the link I provided.

Come up with a decent list of evidence first, then make your claim.

Sorry I was only joking around about the passion. I understand there is no quantative way to assess passion and I would never seriously (non-tongue in cheek) suggest that there is more passion in AR then in RL.
On topic. Im not sure if a wikipedia website would be the best referrence to assess RL/AR incidents. I will do some research and get back to you with a decent argument if I can work out one.

I think my wiki site is fairly credible. Although yes after TLPG's altering of the wikipedia homebush page debacle with MarkZZZ I must confer, wikipedia is not the most reliable. I wish folk like TLPG would behave in a more ethical manner.

Soccer by far. Such small numbers creat such large havoc.TLPG wrote:Soccer hooligans are the worst by a mile. Anything that has happened in the crowd at either AFL or NRL games drop to almost insignificant levels in comparison. If the AFL is 44 (and I doubt that!) then soccer would be around 1,000 at least at a ball park estimate.
AS for rl fans , I've never experienced any trouble.
They're always fast asleep bored shitless.
.
Nice try Cos.

Re: Which sports fans are the worst?
Ok we have agreement that soccer is by far the worst. What about between AFL/VFL and NRL/RL? I'd say my link gives us a clear answer. I'd also say the link tells us that AFL/VFL has the worst crowds in the country. For shame!

Re: Which sports fans are the worst?
AFL crowds are far bigger than RL crowds and generally fill the stadium far more often. RL crowds are so sparsely grouped theyre less likely to become confrontational.King-Eliagh wrote:Ok we have agreement that soccer is by far the worst. What about between AFL/VFL and NRL/RL? We've already had this comment Xman and it's validity is minimal when you look at the number of notable shameful crowd events in comparison to NRL/RL. I said this already, its about 7 to 1. Catchup Xman

Re: Which sports fans are the worst?
Hmm I don't think so. You only have to look at an NRL game on TV to see the fans are sparsely positioned. At an AFL game the opposition fans of opposing teams are right next to each other. The vast majority get along fine but the odd fool takes it too far. Would this happen in a primarily empty stadium? I think not.King-Eliagh wrote:We've already had this comment Xman and it's validity is minimal when you look at the number of notable shameful crowd events in comparison to NRL/RL. Re: Which sports fans are the worst?
You're right but RL often has atleast half full stadiums and more. As with the AFL, except a little more often. Example. The MCG holds 90k odd, how often is it more than 45k full? I'd guess about half the time?
There's no excuses for the shocking behaviour of the fans Xman. And it looks like the AFL/VFL have the most shocking fans in the country. Just look at our AFL'Warrior' for example. He's confused goods, thinks he's a 'warrior' and all. I'd imagine he's started a few barneys and had his block knocked off on more than one occassion.

The NRL fans are worse - and aren't caught because no one wants to do anything about it. The AFL try to do something about it, and that's why the AFL gets more publicity over the matter. Add that to the pot.
Violence breeds violence. Bordeom also breeds violence. Thugby qualifies on both. Soccer qualifies on the second one and big time. Football qualifies for neither.

You clearly have no idea about AFL crowdsKing-Eliagh wrote:You're right but RL often has atleast half full stadiums and more. As with the AFL, except a little more often. Example. The MCG holds 90k odd, how often is it more than 45k full? I'd guess about half the time?

45k may be less than half empty mcg but the vast majority will be seated in the club members or the public seating. The MCC and AFL members areas will usually be far less populated. Therefore there will still be a tightly packed group of supporters sitting together.
You only have to look at the recent racist incidents from both codes. The AFL had one racist clown who was reported by a player on his team and other fans, and banned. The NRL had entire sections of their crowd racially abusing the opposition team on mass, even involving racist signs!

The AFL is also far more family friendly with a greater proportion of females and children attending games. No wonder. The game is far less of a thugs game than RL!

"Entire sections"

ps RL fans sit close together too you silly goon.

The facts stand folkd. AFL/VFL have far worse fans than NRL/RL. Noones been able to provide any evidence on this case apart from me. However we do await piesmans research. Until then we're likely to hear pie in the sky stuff from fools such as xman and tlpg...."whole sections" indeed!
