Mark, there are many locals in other countries playing football. Don't believe that ex-pat BS from KE. Locals way out number the ex-pats (see the International Cup for proof). Not only that, football is played at that local amateur level in more countries than thugby. The fact that 51 countries have been represented in players playing in the AFL bears that out (see the "Racism" thread on the Fight Club). My bringing up of footy in Australia was merely to show that this deal in France is nothing to get excited about, especially in a country that already has a fair thugby league presence. It equates to maybe a state league coverage, which the VFL, SANFL and WAFL have had for years.

Oh, and football has a significant presence in New South Wales, Queensland, the Northern Territory and northern WA for the record.
