Nice try Cos.

Yes i am sensitive and allergic to bullshit Cos.... so stop with it already its making me sick. :D

PNG is the number 2 nation in Aussie rules.
Wales and PNG is arguably number 4 in Rugby league.

Rugby league has a huge participation rate in the junior level with every school in the country involved in a rugby league competition as rugby league is part of the school curriculum. There are 5,000 registered players between the ages of 12 and 18.

There are 10,000 registered senior players. They compete in 40 affiliated leagues around the country. Each league has a minimum of seven clubs and each club has four teams.

AFL
There are 1,920 registered senior players They compete in 7 affiliated leagues around the country

See how stupid your comment is, i mean if PNG is regaining its prior position in Aussie rules then our rugby league world cup is going to outstrip the FIFA World cup in earnings crowds sponsors and everything else.
See now that comment was on par with your comment....

If PNG is a strong Aussie Rules nation then rugby league in PNG is a Goliath.
League in NZ a Monster.
League in England a Powerhouse
League in Aus God like...

RLWC
Australia New Zealand Scotland Wales
England France Tonga Cook Islands
Fiji Papua New Guinea Italy USA
Ireland Samoa

I can safely say that over 90% of the nations in this world cup are more professional and have more sponsors/funds then Aussie rules in PNG.

PNG is NOT number two, Eel! That's New Zealand! PNG is number three! With Ireland and the USA coming up on the outside!

And if you think thugby is "God like" in Australia, how come it's such a failure in four of the six states?

TPLG you are slow mate, ever heard of sarcasm? obviously not. #-o

BTW this is the final result for last 4 International cups.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian ... up#Results

Ireland Warriors 1st 4th 4th 1st
New Zealand New Zealand Falcons 3rd 1st 2nd 3rd
Papua New Guinea Papua New Guinea Mosquitos 2nd 2nd 1st 2nd

I would say the most consistent of the three is PNG.
You would think that a AFL fan would be across all these type of things hey, but i guess i am asking to much of the likes of you....

Here are the official rankings as Per AFL HQ

Overall tournament rankings and statistics
1 New Zealand New Zealand 23 20 87% 3 13% 0 0%
2 Papua New Guinea Papua New Guinea 22 18 82% 4 18% 0 0%
3 Republic of Ireland Ireland 23 18 78% 5 22% 0 0%

So when we look at this its quite alarming how small the presence of AFL is.
AFL is non existent in NZ yet they seem to be no 2, Mmmm something tells me half these NZ boys are from AUS.
PNG has more grassroots then NZ and that is why i place them above NZ, hell even Ireland have more interest then NZ.

These rankings below more accurately represent the actual order of developing nations in AFL.
Placing rankings
Pos. Team Gold Silver Bronze Fourth
1st Ireland 2 (2002, 2011) 2 (2005, 2008)
2nd Papua Ne 1 (2008) 3 (2002, 2005, 2011)
3rd New Zealand 1 (2005) 1 (2008) 2 (2002, 2011)
4th United States 1 (2005) 1 (2011)
5th South Africa 1 (2008)

You don't know what you're talking about, Eel. You took those statistics completely out of context.

Typical thugby supporter.

The reality is that AFL has been played in New Zealand since the 1970's consistenly, and had an on and off presence well before that. That's the primary reason why they are number two.

A good case illistrating the misuse of statistics by focussing on one criteria.

PNG has the grassroots but lacks height, coaching and their AFL resident players to take the Cup.
NZ has the Australian proximinity and soon a flood of juniors coming through and plays well.
The Irish play well because of their Gaelic knowledge.
Soon the RSA should join them as their juniors mature.
Of course this is the "gunna" philosophy but I'm very confident of the growth of AR O/S.
Nice try Cos.

You didn't, Cos. He was putting words into your mouth. Newcastle is thugby heartland - but that hasn't stopped them from playing footy as well whether it be when it was first played there in 1880, or the fact that a competition has been based there since 1948 - and use the city's main oval for it's grand final no less! Not bad for a code outside it's heartland, huh?

The order for new football teams would be this.

Tasmania
Canberra
3rd Perth
Albury-Wodonga
Darwin
North Queensland
Auckland
Wellington
Norwood
Christchurch
Ballarat
Bendigo
Port Melbourne
Port Moresby
Newcastle
Oh boy! This guy called "The Reaper" (no, not Grim Reaper!) needs his head read! I'll put those in the correct order!

Tasmania
Canberra
3rd Perth
Norwood
Ballarat
Bendigo
Albury-Wodonga
Darwin
Newcastle

None of the others have any hope at all of being in the AFL.

I did notice that there was a suggestion that a Newcastle team would enter the NEAFL in 2013. I don't think that's a good idea. They should play in the Sydney FL first.

I would put a third team in Perth before Tasmania. The population of tasmania is to spread out over the state with only about 200K in Hobart. The population of tasmania is in decline while the population of Perth is booming.

Base the Tasmanian club in both Hobart (Bellerive) and Launceston (York Park), with a game a year on the North West Coast and the reach more than doubles. Tassie is ready for a team now. Perth is not ready for a third team yet.
