2 Weeks Suspension for Fevola - What a Joke

Post by Beaussie »

How is it that Jolly gets suspended for 2 weeks for kneeing, without clear video evidence, yet Fevola cops the same punishment for eye gouging?

Step aside Hird and Essendon, Fevola and Carlton are the new protected species at the AFL Tribunal.

Jolly got what he deserved.

I agree, though, about Fevola. How long wold Jonathon Brown received for the same offence? I'm guessing 10 weeks.

The AFL tribunal is a joke. They think they're doing something positive "for the children" by fining 10000 for a scratch. Whoever made up these pissweak rules was on a power trip bigtime, probably that fat wanker demetriou  IMO league understands that the game is physical and blues are going to happen so occassionally they let it go. By doing this league gets less of the bullshit and is narrowing dow the tribunal to more substantial warranted cases.

BTW i think eyegouging is bad.

Quite pathetic really, Fevola's actions were quite clear and the tribunal must have seen that. Take in the fact that it was automatically a level three offence, generally it should be three matches or more yet he get's off with just two?

There have been many cases in the past where Fevola's was clearly worse drawing blood yet they get worse penalties. Were going to need some consistant suspensions out of this tribunal or they will continue to be called a joke.

I agree with all of you, the rules were supposed to be made clearer but people are more confused than ever. Fev does join the illustrious protected species exhibit with Hird and Lloyd. Lloyd should have frees paid against him for diving, why is it that everyone else in the ground and on TV can see but the pigeon with the whistle and control of the game can't see it?
