All the while there's thousands of young up and comers who would kill for khunts spot, THOUSANDS who are more skilled and could deliver on field success for the suns. For shame, for shame

Sure they would kill for his opportunity, but are they as good?King-Eliagh wrote:Yes the media interest has been huge. But that is only the surface level impact. As ive stated several times now there is much more at play here including the credibility of the AFL, an organisation which runs a reality tv style experiment within its own professional competition and the credibiliy of the suns. Sure the interest was there last year, and will remain this year but those with foresight will know this farce will implode on itself once the everyday run of the mill public clicks on that khunt simply lowered the quality of the comp and the suns and that the AFL did it simply as one big promotional drive.

He isn't there replacing a number one draft pick. He's being paid a fairly modest wage by the club so he isn't squeezing the salary cap. The draft and cap dictate who the suns recruit and k hunt will easily have the skills of a mid to low end draft pick. But he comes with so many other advantages in areas such as media interest, leadership qualities, sponsorship interest, membership promotion etc. additionally he has done a fantastic job of promoting the game for the AFL.King-Eliagh wrote:No Xman, these thousands I speak of would not be "as good" as the Khunt, they'd be much friggin better.
Xman have you gone completely bonkers? Are you wearing a suit and tie as you type this trash? What ever happened to success on the field? The whole comp, is just that, a comp. Each team's primary goal is to win the trophy you clown.
And really, you are kidding yourself thinking the up and coming top line players in the lower divisions would have a "similar impact on the field". You've lost your marbles right there Xman. Clearly, your marbles, theyre all over the shop.

He's a project and has improved already. His advantages far outway his disadvantages.King-Eliagh wrote:He doesnt have the skills of a mid to low end draft pick. He's shown us that. All last season and if i recall correctly, he had a few runs in the mids last year too...and guess what? He played rubbish.

He has improved to the point where he is a useful member of the team. One of 44 listed players remember. You've obviously never watched the reserves for AFL sides. It is not unusual for teams to have a project on their list. Quite a number of teams have recruited overseas players with little AFL experience. Collingwood have a tall and athletic basketballer from the USA at the moment. North Melbourne have a kid from Sudan. Essendon and a number of other teams have recruited the cream of Gaelic football to see if they can make them into handy running players. I'd love to know how KHunt and Izzy are any different. With the defensive skills they possess from RL it is a reasonable chance to take. Izzy has already shown in the NAB cup game against Hawthorn that he has the sort of contested marking skill that warrants a chance in the AFL.King-Eliagh wrote:Xman wrote:He's a projectKing-Eliagh wrote:He doesnt have the skills of a mid to low end draft pick. Finally we agree. Yes, he's a project. An experiment of sorts. A reality tv show which has interested audiences and the media. All being conducted in the premier competition and thus far the results of this 'project' are completely shameful for the organisation running it. Credibility? Lost. Better players are missing their chance while millions are being thrown at a gumby unskilled gold digger who has not shown commitment to the game prior to his handout. At least Izzy did a whole season in the lower grades before stepping it up. Khunt just lunged for the money. Its hilarious that this man is now set for life while playing at such a low level on the field. Hilarious! But shameful

So the difference is the pay? OMG! You have already conceded his pay is acceptable for the off-field contributions he has made!King-Eliagh wrote:Because I know he's a golddigger and uncommitted beaussie. Its outrageous the gimp could not put in a whole season in the lower grades before competing at top level. But the AFL rushed him in for the market value. Disturbing and completely immoral imo, it takes real opportunities away from those who've worked for it. Izzy did a whole prep season and has benefited from it. He's put in the yards.
Xman Khunt is different because he's being paid a friggin motza compared to those others you listed, AND, he's getting more game time because he's the friggin AFL's promo bunny. At the same time the bloke is making a joke of the sport with his bumbling and fumbling and general patheticness. Raider's descriptions of AFL players fit Khunt like a glove. Bringing the game into disrepute is Khunt. I've never seen him take a contested mark
xman wrote:KE, why is an even comp important?
He is improving as a player and the off field benefits he has provided have been way above expectations. I'm not surprised at all that he has been given another contract!King-Eliagh wrote:I conceded that for one year it was worth a try Xman, never for the three extra years. Can you read the title of this thread? In future use the dozeon or so braincells you own before posting more shmack. It's getting tiresome.

I'm sure the Suns would prefer KHunt, who has the name and media interest to bring in members and sponsorship, over some kid with a similar impact on the field.
