Parras crowd was fairly decent without me and my mate, who pulled out of going leaving me not keen to go on my own. In any case I wonder what the AFL mob in here have got to say about the crowd of 40k plus today out in nz?

A county of 4million people should draw a crowd that size for a single team. The westcoast and Fremantle are located in a city of 1.8 million and both draw crowds near 40k every week.

but if the entertainment turned on this arvo continues
it will be one day

meanwhile the VFL is now a presrcibed cure for insomnia ...............

The NRL get excited about a crowd of 37k which is about the AFLs average!

At least NZ turn out to watch sport, unlike RL fans in NSW and ACT!

I wonder if Raider was part of the 7k crowd in Canberra. Probably not. Too cold and wet for him just like KE on Friday night I suspect.

Round 1 NRL crowds are a disaster. How embarrassing.

no .. I didn't go
the rain was torrential... sheeting sideways at times & I have young children ..... mother was not going to allow them out of the house in that weather
so I stayed at home along with about 8000 others who would have gone if it wasn't played in a monsoon

& who.. will ..turn up if our boys keep playing like they did yesterday ... gutsy performance

still, 7,862 turning up was a great effort

Raiderdope must love the start of the NRL season! The AFL preseason is only time he can claim the NRL have an advantage over the AFL in crowds! Very very sad!
