show me where I claim the Lions average near 100kRaiderdave wrote:Lions ... drew 100K just once , you claimed they average near this ..... they actaully average about 70K.....Xman wrote:Try looking with your eyes this time!Raiderdave wrote:theres no culture of games on at a decent time .... put the nations best TV sporting product on at a good time
it will be watched
more NRL being played in SA ... & hey , even a game of 2 in Tassie won't hurt either ( 59K for our GF in tassie) thats flippingwell un heard of
but a sign of the times
WA as I said will get their team back .... watch the ratings rise dramaticaly ova there
Brisbane got 100K ............ once
In fact i think they only got ova 60K only a few times.... the ratings for the Lions .. & Suns ... & AFL in general in NSW & QLD
are embarrasing for a sport rammed down the throat of veiwers in prime time
its a joke
put the Storm on every week .. in prime time
& they whop any AFL expansion team in NSW & QLD ... not a theory ... they do it now on the rare occasions they make it on FTA at a decent time.
when networks will have no choice from 2013
watch the NRL increase its already widening gap ova the AFL in the Ratings
Both the suns and lions got between 70k and 110k almost every week, plus they were live and ad free on foxtel most times as well.
These are great figures for expansion teams in a city of 2million.
In fact the NRL only rated 90k to 180k for Sunday games, and many 9.30 FN games, and none of these games were simulcast on foxtel or against any other games.
These are excellent results and prove the strength of th AFL in QLD especially since the teams were in the bottom few on the ladder and thrashed almost weekly!
The storm on the other hand are riding high and at the peak of their on field powers. They need to be consolidating this success with off field results right now. So let's have a look: Home game average of only 14k in a brand new stadium, FTA ratings average in Melbourne (4mil) of about 60k with no concurrent payTV game to steal viewers! And this is when they are
ladder leaders!
Oh dear.....![]()
Suns are jumping around with joy if they get to 40K
neither were ever on ... on FTA & pay at the same time in Brsibane
don't compare these woeful ratings to any of the QLD NRL sides
the Broncos worst ratings of the year would be bigger then the best rating the Lions & Suns could put together .. combined.
the Storm attracted around 15K a week to AAMI .. thats OK .. it's getting better
they also do considerally better on TV .. when they're shown at a good time .. which is rare ... then their equivalent 2 AFL sides in Sydney & Brisbane who've been rammed down the throats of people in NSW & QLD for decades
god knows what'd be happening if they were shown regularly in prime time ... spose we'll find out in 2013

The Lions and Suns ratings put the Storm to shame and are not that far off Brisbane's ratings for games involving non-Qld teams, like on Sundays or FN's.
This is despite the Lions and Suns games being broadcast on FTA and PayTV simultaneously.
They are excellent results for 2 teams on the bottom of the ladder. Things are looking up for the AFL in QLD! :D
