its funny as ............
Hmm, not relevant.........

NRL claim victory. Networks pay AFL HEAPS more. Even most NRL people believe AFL will still get more when the latest deals are done.

How are the relevant then?
when we more then double our present deal... with our next deal
thats how they're relavent

K
So when you don't match the AFL deal how will that be possible when the ratings figures you claim show your product is watched by more people? Shouldn't you get more than the AFL. Why didn't you last time?

Hmm interesting. And how will your game do that when:

- it is of little to no interest to half of Australia because all but one Australian team are located in 2 states?
- the NRL have already optimized their product for tv by allowing the networks to schedule your games for the best ratings, you already have a MN game which no one goes to watch
- you show only your most popular teams on TV so the smaller teams are losing out and struggling. The raiders say hi!
- you've already sold out to PayTV and maxed out subscriptions in northern states.
- nothing more is being offered. No more games. No more expansion teams in new markets.

Most NRL commentators are suggesting a deal worth less than the AFLs. This is because they know you've got little room to grow and the ratings are BS and of little value.

it is of little to no interest to half of Australia
could be talking about AFL too .... our 2 states have more people then your 4
thats what counts
the NRL have already optimized their product for tv by allowing the networks to schedule your games for the best ratings, you already have a MN game which no one goes to watch
our best games ... slaughter yours & it wouldn't matter when you put them on ... our average games do better then your best games ,
finals being the proof , all on at the same time .... 9 finals all up
the result ........ NRL 6 AFL 3
thats with most your big clubs involved .... & ours missing massive ratings pullers in Parramatta & the Bulldogs
you show only your most popular teams on TV so the smaller teams are losing out and struggling. The raiders say hi!
again , refer to what I said above
our average games rate as well as your biggest matches... the Raiders V a struggling Bulldogs rated ova a million veiwers
I think that beat about 80% of AFL matches in 2011
so your point is irrelavent
- you've already sold out to PayTV and maxed out subscriptions in northern states.
our code has the subscribers , ours aren't " potential " subscribers ... who " might" sign up , but if you take away the product & they go with it ..its pay up or its ... see ya foxtel
- nothing more is being offered. No more games. No more expansion teams in new markets.
we offer the biggest rating sport there is in this country as it is , but just to add a bit more
18 sides .. 9 games from 2014/15 with the Perth Reds & a 2nd Brisbane side in giving broadcasters a game in our 3rd largest market every week

Most NRL commentators are suggesting a deal worth less than the AFLs
so they'd be guys that work for broadcasters who will be trying to keep the price as low as possible wouldn't they ?

So raider Dave, again, if the NRL is the biggest drawing game in the land why doesnt it win the GF ratings, especially when shown in the best time slot of the week?

And before you say "our GF is against decent opposition". Networks don't show their best shows in the middle of the day for a reason! They show them when they expect the games to be seen by the most people, in the EVENING. Sunday night is the best evening because people are home and not at work.

The rest of your post is just shite. Sure, your FN game wins some weeks, and all when you include fudged regionals. But you conveniently ignore your 9.30 game which loses with deplorable ratings every week. It is no wonder your two targeted and live FN match beats an afls single game at 8.30 on 1 - 3 hr delay. Why would the AFL possibly win that? If the NRL is such a ratings juggernaut why does it fail so dismally at 9.30 when the AFL game is only starting the second quarter?

The AFL wins Staurday and Sunday games easily.

the NRL wins payTV games for obvious reasons. northern states have higher subscriptions and NRL games are rarely shown against another NRL game. One of the only exclusive foxtel games last year was the practice game between the giants and swans. It rated one of the highest payTV sport shows of the year. Imagine next year when payTV get some of the better matches and they are not shown at the same time as FTA!

All in all the NRL claims a minor win of 10% by stacking laughable regionals, a longer season, more exclusive matches, and live targeted broadcasts! You're in trouble next year that's for sure.

Rugby League has a lying culture. Altering crowd figures, relying on inaccurate TV figures from regional NSW and refusing to distance itself from Leagues Clubs and obtain it's own club memberships as it relies on LC's to survive as private entities.

you start with why don't we win the GF ratings
I explained we do ... quite regularly

a lamer more pathetic excuse for the biggest game a sport can put on ... not rating as well as it could ... because its on the wrong day .. at the wrong time
I have not heard
its borderline embarrasing as excuses go

a one on one ratings battle between the codes took place ... the finals in our respective codes
no targeting of markets
no games being shown at the same time ... supposedly taking veiwers away from any of games
no so called " favourable " time slots .. with the games on pretty much at the same time
outside of the GF's ( & origin for RL)
the 8 biggest games of the year ... for the AFL .. the biggest games that code has

what did we get in our 16 Finals outside the GF's
take a gander

1. NRL Storm V Warriors (1,807,000)
2. NRL Manly V Broncos (1,668,000)
3. NRL Dragons V Wests Tigers (1,607,000)
4. AFL Colling V Hawthorn (1,571,000)
5. NRL Broncos V Dragons (1,548,000)
6. NRL Tigers V Warriors (1,382,000)
7 NRL Broncos V Warriors (1,368,000)
8 AFL Hawth V Geelong (1,317,000)
9 AFL Hawth V Sydney (1,310,000)
10 AFL Geelong V West C (1,269,000)
11 NRL Melb V Newc (1,236,000)
12 AFL Carlt V West C (1,217,000)
13 NRL Manly V Cowboys (1,201,000)
14 AFL Carlt V Ess (1,126,000)
15 AFL Coll V West C (1,046,000)
16 AFL St Kilda V Syd (1,045,000

& as I said
the AFL final series involving Collinswart ... Essenwood ... Carlstcray ... & whorethorn

the NRL's missing some of its biggest rating clubs
but you lot got pumped

pumped good
a clear indicator of whos the big dog in Aussie sport
& its not the mob that wear singlets ...

please ... keep looking
you might find a valid point or position .. somewhere 8-[

It helps that the AFL will have nine games a week instead of eight.
