Melbourne Storm spreading the love internationally

Post by ParraEelsNRL »

Good to see one Melboring club putting the shytehole on the map eh?
On the back of the recent success of the USA Tomahawks to qualify for the 2013 Rugby League World Cup, the AMNRL is continuing to expand the sport of rugby league across the USA. The full 2012 international schedule will be finalized before the new year with Ireland returning in March along with plans coming together for the USA to tour France later in the year, and the Melbourne Storm from the Australian NRL to play a one off international in October.
Oh, and lets not forget the USA touring France.

Hey tipper, can you post a link to any AFL club doing this anywhere anytime?

LOL, from the guy that said AFL is as big as RL internationally. =D> :lol: :lol: :lol:

I do know that many countries come to Australia for the International Cup. How many I couldn't say for the moment.
Rugby League has a lying culture. Altering crowd figures, relying on inaccurate TV figures from regional NSW and refusing to distance itself from Leagues Clubs and obtain it's own club memberships as it relies on LC's to survive as private entities.

That I don't know, but the fact that the final has always been played as a curtain raiser to AFL games at the MCG proves you wrong at least for that game.

The final was played at the MCG, not Blacktown Oval.

No pictures of this year's Cup yet, but here is a quote for you from Wikipedia;
"Although the game is played in many countries, the Australian Football League only has 13 affiliated international governing bodies, AFL Canada, Danish Australian Football League, BARFL, AFL Japan, ARFLI, Nauru Australian Football Association, New Zealand AFL, USAFL, AFL South Africa, AFL PNG, AFL Samoa, Tonga Australian Football Association and AFL Germany. The league also has working relationships with bodies in additional countries, who have sent, or may in future send, teams to the International Cup."
