well we dont know the out come of the NRLW comp to begin with! the AFL is bank rolling its own teams while PV landys is beathing his cheast of how wealthy the NRL is but using tax payer funds to bank roll teams! sports about revenue raised and players paid out of a percentage of revenue raised not about equal pay of workers from woolworths

I just can't get into the AFLW - seems forced all the hype thery try and do around it. Too many teams dilutes the talent pool. The Australia Irleland match was a good thing.

true, it is a hard watch.
it is abit like the NRLW (while i think it is a better product) and tv viewers make this claim, i myself find it hard to get into.

I will however watch the ORIGIN WOMEN GAME ALWAYS>

i havent read up on the history of the NRL yet but when reading up on the AFL and its conversion from the VFL to the AFL and the inclusion of the Eagles and later the Adelaide team in the 90s, many of the players still had full-time day jobs playing football on the side. its only really been the last 30 years its gone from being semi to fully professional with many teams playing out of run down club venues in Victoria, Adelaide and Perth the old subiaco that surprised me it basically took the men over 100 years to become professional , the AFLW lost 50 million at the end of the 2024 season and the skill level is not great they get, yet they get prime time matches on TV at first class venues and were wanting better pay
