Optus Stadium Replica..

i found it interesting the Oval length will be same as MCG
that is a very big ground>> alot bigger than the Gabba

63k seats.
i wonder who will get there first...

Victoria Park 63k seats cap
or
Suncorp Stadium Redevelopment 65k Approx.
Thought I read somewhere that Suncorp Stadium is not capable of being upgraded to 65k capacity? Would require total knockdown and rebuild?

And do you really think any further major redevelopment is happening for Suncorp Stadium anytime soon, with the current war, cost of living crisis, inevitable Olympics budget blowouts and a possible global recession/economic downturn?
top tier upgrades in each corner generate 12k seats.
4 corners

https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=e ... ABGAEgASgB

if they were to put in a roof,
2 Screens at either end would go to Roof side ( like NFL style)
and seating would also replace where current screens are, increasing capacity further..

but again... All this drama nothing is guaranteed

With all the drama over the world and cost of living... most definitely could delay the project.

they cancelled the ANZ Olympic Park Sydney to refurbished the stadium & Roof Because of COVID

so anything could happen.

(the stadium will be upgraded 100% it is just of matter of when)
it is so popular.

If they do upgrade I think they need to bulldoze it and build it somewhere more suitable - easier to get to. Went past it the other day and is a traffic nightmare even without an event on.

i am not even sure where they could put it. LANG PARK holds so much value
i doubt they will bulldoze it.

just a major refurb and capacity lifted.

but hey anything is up in the air.

They could put it in Victoria park also - make it a sports precinct. The land at suncorp would be worth a fortune.

major events, NRL games Broncos and other SE Qld teams that play home games there based teams, a SOO game and a few concerts! lol

well looks like the new Olympic stadium will be the premier venue that will take the concerts away

the Eagles and Dockers average more and they have been duds of late and Dockers for the best part of there history have been a duds. Both teams have waiting lists for there memberships and it took Perth 70 for a new stadium. there is no case for a new rectangular venue in Brisbane

the Stadium in Brisbane is only happening due to the Olympics, yet you league folks seem to make it all about you. if the day the broncos or any other league side out grows the Suncorp there is a new venue up the road they can play in

Could you imagine the whiny and vocal Save Victoria Park mob. Add to that the inevitable Save Lang Park mob.

not a bad point, would have to be decided soon you would think to config the both..
but i do like the idea.

like MOORE PARK SCG AND SFS
and Melbourne MCG & AAMI

the sell off at LANG PARK would be Billions...
it would literally pay for a new stadium and More
i just cannot see it happening with the elites etc etc wanting it moved.

nope as like around the world, concerts and most sports all prefer to play or perform at Rectangle sporting arenas.
due to the closeness of the stadium to the event..

No
the only talk of upgrading Suncorp is coming from the crys of Temu Pete and the League fans, no one else.
the talk only started of because of the Olympic stadium being an oval

so keep crying
