It’s one of the few times the NRL GF out rates rhe AFL GF! lol

Well it’s hilarious as you lot are the only ones that seem to care about the ratings as the TV excs and advertisers don’t seem to
  Sure.

that is why Ch7 and Ch9 Publish there big rating content constantly.
Watch WACKO>>> tv Excs will be caring alot come NRL tv rights deal..
and we will find it hilarious too >>> laughing at YOU
How has that worked out every contract previously?
Even during Covid Gill got the AFL a batter deal and PVL was laughed out of the building
most of the contracts over the pass 18 years have been very equal>>

this deal however stretches it and makes NRL's look small as AFL deal is to the end of 2031 (7 year deal and 19 teams)
NRL will do a deal to 2032 ( where you will get a like for like comparison )

All my reading is that the nrl are aiming to get closer to the AFL deal - which, I think, with the ratings, the women’s comp going well, soo etc. they should be getting more - particularly adding in inflation. But I guess there’s a lot I don’t know about how they value these things.
Well PVL and his inferiority complex is trying his best for the AFL to notice!

There doesn’t seem to be much available, as I haven’t been able to find the cost to advertise Melbourne vs Sydney vs Brisbane vs Perth metro regional etc

But the rate to advertise in Sydney would be far more expensive, than Perth due to potential of eyes to see the advertisement would be a large factor in the total figure of the broadcast deal. Seeing the nrl is the dominant code in NSW and Qld the potential dollar growth in expansion markets of Adelaide and Perth is far lower than the AFL in Sydney and Brisbane and Gold Coast etc

Throw in the NZ factor in some where in the middle
i added some stats of this years ago via THINK TV. (info is unavailable now)
they had city's and states comparisons. (approx 8 years ago)

Melbourne was closing the gap on Sydney
NSW REGIONAL & QLD REGIONAL was worth more than SA & WA combined
Brisbane was ahead of Perth..

I suspect changes since, as PERTH has went BOOM in revenue.

thats my point with broadcast deals, the new teams, Perth and PNG wont really increase by much due to local markets. PNG has the population but a 3rd world

though having Perth will increase TV (as its not far behind Brisbane)
PNG is totally different all together..
Streaming will be huge for the game and through Digicel Pacfic (even if fees are charged at $5.00 a month Min
its good coin for the NRL with the amount of subs they could receive
of course nothing of a level of Australia but every bit of coin helps.

they will play to packed stadiums and fans are massive in PNG
There loyalty to there team can be worth something to the NRL and will only increase long term.

having 19 teams also adds an extra game
and extra country
and extra state

it will do not much more perth is far smaller than brisbane and population of WA is far less than that of QLD
what is classed as brisbane, gold coats, sunshine coasts and inland?

last year the total GDP of PNG was 31.9 billion with debt being round half that. TV rights from PNG will be jack shit in the scheme of things

BRISBANE INCLUDES AREAS
Ipswich, Logan City, Redland City, and Moreton Bay. It is situated on the Moreton Bay floodplain, stretching from Caboolture in the north to Beenleigh in the south, and across to Ipswich in the southwest.

In tv ratings they include Gold Coast, but not Sunshine coast

the NRL see big opportunities in International and Australian Companies in sponsorship through PNG>

So population wise Perth to Brisbane and surrounding areas is twice the size so won’t increase the broadcast deal by much as the AFL putting a new team in Brisbane or NSW

The PNG team and even the Perth teams the NRL isn’t paying for! It’s the socialist Prime Minister spending other peoples money to be liked. If this wasn’t the case there would be near no chance, of the NRL teams funding them

well yes i guess you can say that >>>

though AFL put in GWS into SYDNEY and rate extremely low. (have not gained anything more)

NRL is gaining a market from scratch with potential.

Though the Perth Market is nothing
compared to HOW BIG THE RATINGS are in NSW AND QLD

this is where the Increase is coming from NSW AND QLD (its in overdrive)

Ratings is everything
Shows get pulled because of low figures

"potential" Swans have been in Sydney for over 40 years and barley make a dent.
GWS coming in have actually lowered the Swans figures. (split)

NRL 2023 to 2027 is not comparable to the AFL's tv Deal which is 2025 to 2031

NRL is looking at signing 2028 to 2032

That is Right and the up coming deal will reflect this on the TV deal > not a deal signed in COVID

and the NRL should not be that far ahead ????

HOW can it be when the AFL has 70% more advertising opportunities than the NRL
not only on FTA but also on FOX>
quarter time half time is almost double the length of NRL and three quarter time.

there is more Advertising in 1 quarter of AFL than the entire NRL broadcast.
add this through the year to every game and it is HUGE

The $ rates of the cost of advertising, exclusive to one network or shown on both, times of games and shown in isolation. Many different factors as well as advertising opportunities

If you look at the AFL clubs they dwarf the nrl clubs in advertising dollars also

So make your any variable you want
