that list just of Lions and Suns players from Qld?
Just Suns - Lions have a decent list also.
In that case, there will be more players from Queensland on the Lions list along with the other 16 AFL teams!

It’s a no wonder the League fans are in delusions and fear

I think you'll find a few on the Lion's list for sure - but yes, there are also plenty across other AFL clubs. QLD is a good breading ground for AFL.

NSW I am not sure as much - you will find enough from the Riverina area - as has always been the case - Aussie rules bleeds well into NSW across the Victorian border - obviously the opposite is not true - but there are more and more players coming from in and around the sydney areas - I think Heeney is one such person. Jarrod Witts is from NSW - Sydney. Also, many private school are having Aussie rules as part of their interschool comps in NSW - given Rugby Union is dying away.

Maybe. Not sure gc region gets ratings on it own or included in Brisbane. I suspect, like me, if you follow AFL in qld, you’d have Fox anyway.

yep Gold Coast are counted in Brisbane Metro Figures..
North NSW is different however (regional)

maybe, maybe not>> if this were the case FTA would not get bigger ratings than FOX>
FTA is still the bigger drawcard for viewers

FTA gets bigger ratings than Fox? You sure?

Anyway - I can only speak for myself but when I moved here that’s when I felt I had to get Fox as pies would be playing and they’d have the suns or Brisbane playing. That is the sole reason I got Fox.

Yeah- there are plenty of players from NSW and QLD - always been some but has grown significantly past 20 years - with more born and breed players. Just look at Suns - they has a massive "go home" factor - so started bringing through locals through the academies - having done that they have many local players in their side. Now some vic clubs are whinging that they get these priority picks - for players they have developed and put the hard earned into. I will see if I can find the list of local QLD players at suns - and maybe AFL this year. Off top of head I could name.

1. Conner Buderik
2. Jed Walter
3. Bohdi Uwlund
4. Lachie Weller (?).
5. Ethan Reid
6. Will Graham
7. Jake Rogers
8. Leonardo Lombard
9. Sam Clohesy
10 Caleb Graham

Happymto be corrected- but that is a fair list of QLDers.
Alex Davies 1st game this year, last round.

Yes - he is another one.
Now 12 local players used this year.
Lachie Gulbin made debut last round.
2024 10 local players used for a total of 121 games.
There is at least 1 more local player that could make their debut, but a bit injury prone.
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.

Probably the worst game of football I’ve seen in some years - Poet we’re atrocious so that’s how bad the suns played.

Congratulations Gold Coast. First ever finals series achieved.

Tough ask in the first week final vs Fremantle in Perth though.

Good luck Suns :thumbleft:
