Actually
I don't think the team will be a majority PNG players for a very long time , the pathways have been there for a decade & still we only have about 4 players born in PNG who currently play NRL , the PNG cutters QLD cup team ATM would get beaten by 60 points every week.
part of this 600 mill is improving the pathways but that will take time

the side will be mainly Australian players & they will go there because they will pay no tax( huge incentive), & live in essentially a resort.
As a result the team will be competitive from day 1
maybe yeah maybe no, Alot can change
with structure, coaching facilities and Money for pathways etc etc
It will change but not any time soon
we're talking the 3rd world ,
pulling a society up out of centuries of poverty is no mean feat ... & its wonderful & highly flattering that our sport has been chosen to play a huge role in doing this.
Not all cultures are the same, and will take decades to 50
Plus years, they need to end corruption firstly!

Players and families will be living in bomb shelters for the next 20 odd years at least if they choose to live over there with personal body guards

not all cultures are the same ? 8-[
:-k

     :(/ :(/  :(/
oh the pearls of wisdom

The Australian players who go there will be living in luxury , in a resort on the water ...
paying no tax
will earn 4 years pay in 3
can't pass that up , meaning this PNG team will be strong on field from day one, & will have a cult like following from the locals

I think the club gets lots of handouts/support - re: players and salaries etc. so this would make it attractive to them to go. Maybe a fly in fly out type thing as well.

at least running costs, facilities, wages and expenses will be cheap

the fly in fly out way might be the go but, how would that go with stability, seriously in the playing group

I think there will be many obstacles - to be honest - I think this will be a major headache for the NRL but if anyone can sort it out I think PVL is the man for that. But I seriously would not be surprised if this did not go ahead - and even less surprised if the date is pushed back.

PVL is a used car sales man is about his only talent and convincing politicians to thrown money at something for votes. Given enough money thrown at it and 30 years of course it will naturally work itself out

If you look at the way he runs the NRL will spend money on pubs and hotels and have the public pay for its teams. If he has any confidence in the leagues ability to find and run a team like the AFL does he would but he doesn’t.

His art of negotiation skills were seen when he was laughed out of the broadcast office last time when the AFL got there deal done in nearly the same time
