Casual fans >> they got to 1 or 2 games a year and watch a few here and there.
there is plenty of them..

go through the city and see the Pubs and clubs
see what people are watching>> its pretty much all Rugby League in QLD.
to say out of 2/3/4/5 million people similar number of people will regularly or casually watch a game on Tv as pay and attend a game, include the expense of travel, tickets, food drinks, as to flicking on the TV or stopping in to the local with mates to watch a game on TV! LMAO!

Believing that is like being an adult Santa Claus still delivers presents on a sled and rain dear every Christmas
 well explain why networks throw it to there alternative channels GEM & Mate

your delusional and think AFL is MASSIVE in all parts of Australia.

I am not going to win this argument.. so good day..
you lot think NRL is massive in All parts of the country also

so people taking time and attending a game costing money and sitting in the elements of the weather will attract the same level of numbers than a casual or fixed viewer who sits at home or heads up to the local bar for some pients of beer

the cost of every thing now days. in my 6 years in Australia things have shot up dramatically, and the 5 or so times ive been to Melbourne the weather has been overcast miserable all times

its a regular occurrence for those teams mentioned, as many or sometimes more people pay to attend a game and make a day of it over than claimed to be watching it on TV in a city of millions of people

any person with half a brain will know it doesn't calculate anywhere near correctly

the storm get similar results in Melbourne also
Casual fans >> they got to 1 or 2 games a year and watch a few here and there.

Maybe in your travels Leroy - certainly not mine. Definetely there are pubs and clubs where nrl is on the bigger screen - but always still then AFL on a screen somewhere. And plenty of pubs where AFL is on the main screen. The Royal in Toowong comes to mind - have both on a big screen. Go to plenty of pubs on Gold Coast, and there are plenty that have AFL on - but more definetely have nrl. Port Douglas - AFL is the main sport up there - the central will have both on as many TVs but if there’s a clash always AFL on big screen.
on a screen somewhere with literally no one watching , except ex pats ...
while you can't get near the screens showing the NRL
from
Wagga Wagga NSW , to Cooktown QLD ( including Port Douglas) the NRL dominates ... everything !!

So Rugby Yawnions answer to " State Of origin " was played on Saturday night
biggest event for toffball in 12 years in Australia
excitement across the nation according to RA

TV ratings nationally on Ch 9 ... every city , town & one pub hamlet
772K
ahhhhhh :-k

surely that should have a 1 in front of the 772 ? 8-[

no :hmm:
so not even a million with Stan added ?     :(/ :(/   :(/ :(/

so the biggest yawnion game in 12 years rated slightly higher then a bog average NRL or stumbles & bumbles club games national broadcast on FTA ,
& less when STV is included

for all the bluster
it aint much of a big deal at all

i did not say there was no AFL >> i said it is mostly NRL on the majority of TV's in PUBS
along the same line as in Melbourne >> Majority of PUBS show AFL but also have NRL on in some too..

when the total for TV viewers for the NRL season , no origin included ..
is at 160 million ( highest for any domestic sport in the land)
they're not just casual fans you gormless clueless twit
they are rusted on supporters of the game ,
their love of our sport, their dedication to it
will deliver it $3.250 billion dollars for 5 years shortly as well in TV rights ... highest media rights for any sport in the land

the fumbling turd show from vicdopia needs its cultist zealots attending games in big numbers , to keep its failing clubs afloat
while the NRL has no such concerns

another interesting fact is
in 2013 it rated 1.3mill Plus FOX numbers....

2025 rated 772k plus Stan numbers..

its a huge decline whatever way you look at it...

it would be like NRL OR AFL GF halving over a decade.

Yeah - again depends where you go of course. Parkwood Tavern will have NRL and AFL on - as it is quite big - and depending on game and requests will put the AFL often on the massive main TV inside. Obviously the Sharks have the AFL as the main sport on TV - NRL still on the little TVs. But Ashmore Tavern - heavily weighted to NRL. Port Douglas - an AFL Town - you will get both but if it is between the two - will always have AFL on. Cairns is a mix. But would agree, more NRL type places than AFL type places on the coast . but not as heavily weighted as you imply I think.

I taped the suns on Foxtel - had to put a blanket over top corner of TV so as not to see the score live.
