Agree to a point - I could see another tea min south West region of brisbane - Ipswich area. Canberra is obvious. Newcastle is one I think that goes unnoticed - and untapped. Sydney could one day have another team - if they ever sort out the giants fiasco - but a long long way off. And of course Adelaide would love another team. But after that, I think it is tapped out - the idea of a northern team I do like as put by Eddie - although I would not like a "regional Northern or Top End team. Can't see Darwin having a permenant team located there.

Swans pre season games have been played in Newcastle in the past. Eddie mentioned in the podcast the Central Coast/Newcastle region up to the Gold Coast remains a potential growth region in NSW.

But markets for expansion >> are all small markets in terms of every factor.

The NSW and Qld markets are far bigger than a SA and WA market so far more room of growth for the AFL

Any major sport in most countries will have interest from overseas media outlets, cricket is the most second most viewed sport in the world behind the soccer, but I doubt the Chinese, Indonesians or USA have any interest in it, yet I can easy watch it in Chile or home land of Europe

NRL version of expansion is bring back an unwanted trash from Sydney, ponk in Perth, have the government to pay for it! old PVL has that much faith in it he wanted the City of Perth to pay, run it and be responsible for it. mean while there feeder team will be in NSW using local players due to the inability to produce local players like the Storm cannot do also. the Poms and Saffas here cannot stand League.

if you follow your your the Australian government policies they love migration to prop up this ponzi scheme economy. they want a 35 million by 2050 meaning cities like Darwin will grow along with rest of the country. to plant a team there and let it become part of the city as the city grows is a long term vision from the AFL, unlike PVL just relocating some unwanted near defunct team from NSW to WA and say you can have them and pay for them

to say AFL is maxed out is one of fear and that NRL bubble that you lot live in. the Swans and Lions have grown nicely in there respective cities and states producing players at grass roots enough to field a state team of current listed players! GCS are on par with the Titans in what is apparent NRL strong land and GWS are a joke but finding there spot
