hey Bea,

what do you recan the NRL will get in next tv deal which is set to be announced MID year sometime. ??

there was huge speculation around the AFL tv deal when it was being disccused it would be around that $600mill figure..

and the same is being said with the NRL>>>

What i wonder is what the NRL will include in the tv deal
contra radio telstra NZ etc
Hard to say, certainly more than the current NRL broadcast deal, but how much more I have no idea tbh, and as I’ve said before, none of us mugs have all the relevant tv ratings, subscription numbers/growth, streaming minutes and most importantly, all the tv ratings data. We are all just speculating. Channel 7 clearly can’t afford to be serious about the NRL:

When is orgin by the way - I am assuming it is soon as some advertising on the TV? Guess I could google but just read your response so thought I would ask.
 its on Wednesday Night Freddy 8pm Kick off (sold out)

if ya cannot watch it because the Tv is taken up with the 1% club or masterchef
you can catch the highlights on 9now or Fox.

and huge telecast predicted.
More people in Brisbane and Gold Coast will view this game than the Entire FTA broadcast of the Lions 22 games.
let that sink in.

hope you can watch >> Maroons will be hard to beat at HOME as always.
Yeah - hoping I can watch too - at least the start and the end .was looking at a TV for the bedroom - cam mirror your apps - may be the way to go - still cop the vibes off the wife though- “that”s fine” she will say but every married man knows that it is not fine - not fine at all lll. Maybe too short notice yo get one by Wednesday though
get a Samsnug or LG they have nice fast processors and best screens around
No need to mirror app's when the apps are on the TV

Ch10 look dead and burried with no sign of anything
ch7 cannot get full H&A season (only SOO or Internationals)

Leaves Ch9 Stan and FOX GROUP (DAZN)

last AFL rights fox and ch7 boosted there rights considerably off the back off a BIG 10 year offer from CH10 / Paramount

hearing nothing outside of streaming services (which is highly doubtful)

I’ll never get and LG anything - constantly break down and the service is terrible - 3 parts sent to fix the tv in port Douglas and 3 times part was also faulty. Misses works on appliance repair and warned me - would never get anything LG.

I don’t think you can get all apps on the tv - kids TVs - sine have Netflix and Stan etc - and Google app - but no Foxtel Go.

people keep saying (AFL lost Saturday FTA but they gained a THURSDAY FTA )

2024 season had 14 THURSDAY FTA GAMES Plus Saturday FTA Games throughout the year
which was around 3.5 FTA games per week 2024 down to 3 FTA games per season. 2025 (Approx)

Wow, I can see the usual suspects not liking this news. Thanks for sharing and keeping us all up to date Wookie. :thumbleft:

Oh and hey Wookie on another note, I’ve been curious about the tv ratings for all the footy shows for the codes throughout the week on FTA and Fox, and their value to broadcasters along with their halo effect. I suspect there are many more Australians watching AFL programs throughout the week based on the amount of AFL footy shows on offer. Would that be a fair assumption to make?

I’m thinking shows like AFL 360, On the Couch, First Crack, Footy Classified, Footy Furnace, The Sunday Footy Show, Sunday Footy Fest, The Agenda Setters, The Front Bar, Unfiltered, Armchair Experts etc etc on Fox, Channel 9 and Channel 7. So many AFL footy shows across the week to choose from that complement the actual game broadcasts. Not sure if you have ever looked into this and have any data to report?

Channel 7 seem to be making a much better effort this season with a lot more promotion of their AFL coverage. It’s been noticeable here in Sydney at least. The Front Bar every Wednesday night from 8:30pm and then Unfiltered following straight after on Channel 7 Sydney. Assuming in Brisbane and nationwide too. Would a lot of this be contra in the tv deal?
