the GWS football related revenue seems rather acceptable and better than most NRL clubs

nothing comes close to this.. GWS are out there by themselves.makingnrlfansgowacko wrote: Fri Apr 25, 2025 2:38 pmwhat are some other comparisons of other NRL and AFL clubs?leeroy*NRL* wrote: Fri Apr 25, 2025 1:15 pm3.5mill write off i find interesting ontop of the 24mill spent for a 100k return.. Wackjob 'ol mate 'ol cobber, if all clubs and sporting organisations (or for that matter any business) spent $24M over 13 years for a return $100k. including a $3.5M write off, they would be dead, buried and cremated pal.
But do wack on wackjob. And by the way, THE BIG BLACK BEARS ARE BACK ON THE PROWL AGAIN WACKY!!!!!!!!!!!!

well it all makes sense, really..Terry wrote: Fri Apr 25, 2025 2:26 pmMethinks its some hocus pocus financial reporting to hide their BS membership numbers & merch sales. And maybe more. I'm still awaiting Wookies expert opinion on this but I don't think he would like to put any AFL entity scrutiny. You know........preferred sport.....bias......that sort of thing.leeroy*NRL* wrote: Fri Apr 25, 2025 1:15 pm3.5mill write off i find interesting ontop of the 24mill spent for a 100k return.. if GWS were getting 30k fans and not heavily reliant on away fans i would not bat and eye lid.

Re: GWS / SUNS >> How much more dollars
I think it has come down significantly - originally it was 25 minutes plus time on - then it went to 20 minutes - however they blow time on for every bounce now whereas they never used to. I think in Covid quarters were shorter - maybe 16 minutes ?? But they did throw around the idea of 18 minute quarters but never eventuated for regular season. I think it is about right as it is - I see umpires are quicker to throw it up - less out of bounds due to stricter interpretations on deliberate which should also cut down on time. But we do have play stopping a lot more now for any injury it seems.

Last time they shortened the match times, ratings per match increased. So probably notleeroy*NRL* wrote: Tue May 13, 2025 2:00 pmshorten rounds, there went through this before...

Re: GWS / SUNS >> How much more dollars
I believe that was during covid Sooks when everybody was at home and ratings rose across the board. So probably not relevant in the context stated here pal.WookieReturns wrote: Tue May 13, 2025 8:16 pmLast time they shortened the match times, ratings per match increased.
