this type of thing won't hurt the NRL's quest
I think the fumblers did this at the reach around didn't they ?....

https://www.couriermail.com.au/subscrib ... -1-NOSCORE

there will be ticket deals & all sorts of incentives to get 2 sellouts on the day
The Broncos game will on its ear anyway , its the Phins one that will require work

but well done
great idea
i WIll be attending this day, i think its great and unique.
no idea about ticket prices or anything..
but if they team up will be BIG CROWDS and GREAT DAY OUT
thats the NRL using creating counting again to boost end of year crowd averages?
nope. once the first game starts at 3pm finishes at 5pm fans will exit and gates open for next game at 6:30 for kick off at 7:50pm
its a different game 2 separate ticket event games

its the bars and pubs around suncorp that will benfit as it becomes a whole day night thing

NRL cracking the 20000 game average thus far this season - well done.
3 years running freddy, again the NRL does not include its 3 biggest games for the year in this figure either.
NRL could get with ease 25k a round if a few grounds were upgraded and not capped.

I think they are looking at home and away ? No finals, no grand finals. And isn’t SoO ARL - but that too is not included - just like finals and grand finals, indigenous games, internationals, pre season etc - just hind and away. Not sure why SoO would be included when all those other no hone and away game aren’t.

I think if they had bigger stadiums they would but probably not profitable just yet - if game crowds grow however it may be feasible - or move to ground rationalisation but then you lose that “home suburban ground” feel you get when playing at small suburban grounds - which lot ask for - a little bit of nostalgia I guess-
that's right. i mentioned SOO as it is rugby league.. meaning Crowds RL are bigger than 20k mark in theory

No Leroy! most venues are never close to full!
i never said anything about all venues being full .... :/;

i stated if a few stadiums were upgraded in the NRL it would help lift attendances

for example and for your knowledge

Sharks play at 12k stadium >> and sell out
Manly play at 18k stadium >> and sell out
Panthers play at 20k stadium >> and sell out ( home ground at panthers) is now being upgraded to 25k (too small but still)
Warriors play at 24k stadium >> and sell out

If you upgraded a few stadiums.. it would help.

AFL - Anzac Day (night)

Fremantle vs Adelaide @ Optus Staduim (Perth)
Crowd: 53,048

One AFL crowd again bigger than NRL crowds combined lol

NRL - Anzac Day (night)

NZ Warriors vs Newcastle @ Apollo Projects Stadium (Christchurch)
Crowd: 17,095

Melbourne vs South Sydney @ AAMI Park (Melbourne)
Crowd: 26,010
put it into perspective..

all NRL games on ANZAC DAY were sold out..

(this is why NRL average can only be so high sometimes)

selling out a finals game once every 5 years doesn't counts as regularly selling out

Sharks gound is getting renovation's? pre 2019 had a capacity of 22k
past 10 years they wouldnt average anything more than 15k
https://afltables.com/rl/crowds/cronulla.html

Manly averaged 12/13k past 10 odd years except for last year
https://afltables.com/rl/crowds/manly.html

Penrith take out the past 3 or 4 years they would be averaging 12/13k in a 22k seat stadium
https://afltables.com/rl/crowds/penrith.html

throw in the gather rounds and double headers where Landys and co where all games of the day all magically get the same crowd attendance for each day are included in the teams final figure at the end of the year like was proven in the other thread

the smaller stadiums might play a little role in it but hardly

the smaller stadiums play a good chunk of the roll in it..
If you can gather an extra 4 to 5k per game in State of art stadiums (which is very easily and possible to do)
NRL crowds would rise..

evidence already points to all codes. new stadiums better facilities crowds rise

Parramatta get new stadium and there crowds jump 50%

(shark park is not getting a renovation >> the leagues club behind it is ....

Manly have increased with the centre of excellence being built behind the goal posts increasing crowds by 3.5k

Penrith a different oiled machine post covid.

the last few years of increase of crowd numbers are misleading due to the double headers and gather rounds figures, 3 games played on the day and each game gets the crowd figure listed next to it and included in the each of the teams end of the year crowd average.

the stadium claim is largly a myth due to homebush and the new SFS. as the crowds are regularly in the teens

Giants crowd tonight looks packed - it’s in Canberra so I don’t really see this as a good thing per se - when you have more support in csnberra than you do in the area you’re meant to represent I think thst it concerning. Either embrace western Sydney or move to Canberra.
