I actually have huge crowd expectations for PERTH TEAM

they will get better averages than the 27 year old Storm from YEAR 1 (if they are able to get a good stadium)

I think the initial interest will be there of course. And I do think that even though they are more mad for AFL than Victoria or South Australia for that matter - that they can hold the two in mind. Winning will be the key. I just don't think week in week out they will be getting anywhere near 40000 a game - a game here and there - maybe when Bears supporters come over for an annual organised trip - but week in week out I think they'd be doing well to get 15000 average to be honest (ongoing). first year curiosity will see some spike no doubt. If they start losing - it will be like the soccer team all over again.

i do not think they will get a 40k Average from Year one, but do recan they can hit 25k Average from Year one

i think Year 1 will be great interest.. and if they are winning team that average will go up.
if they are a losing team that average will decrease to around 20k odd.

i like the idea of 22 sides 21 rounds plus finals

21 rounds with home games alternating each year and 1 rivalry round each year, 22 rounds, split bye round in the middle of the season. Rounds 11/12.

Rugby league’s bid to expand into Western Australia is on life support, with the NRL on the verge of walking away from plans to add a Bears-affiliated team in Perth.

Barring a last-minute increase in the financial package being offered by the WA government to secure a rugby league team for its state, the NRL will next week formally vote on a decision to abandon the plan to introduce a Perth-based team in the next broadcast cycle, which begins in 2028.
