AFL & NRL Footy Crowds - 2025
Re: Footy Crowds - 2025
Those crowds for an nrl match are pretty okay - on par with expectations I would say.

both were sellouts , some Dragons members didn't show at Kogarah , but other then that you couldn't get anymore in either place.Fred wrote: Sun Mar 09, 2025 11:23 amThose crowds for an nrl match are pretty okay - on par with expectations I would say.
Lots of debate about the all Sydney game & it should have been at Allianz about 10kms up the road & getting over 30K there ..
but it wasn't available , so pundits said it should have been today , & the Storm V Parra game last night , but
AAMI wasn't available ... its not easy when your sport shares venues with 2 other sports at the same time
something fumbleball does not have to contend with.

If it looks like 12k my prediction is they will post a crowd of 18-20k or more. The young bloke that lives next door to me said he is going with a heap of others. All free tickets. A mate of theirs works for the Ginats and said he can get any number of freebies for any Ginats game. Apparently none of 'em have seen an AFL game before. My prediction is after seeing todays mess they will never return lololololol.azif wrote: Sun Mar 09, 2025 3:21 pmwarm sunny day at homebush

Annoys me how so many teams now copy the Pies slow chant - noticed last few years this occurring - seriously - teams get your own thing going.

Oh common Fred, ya can’t be serious?Fred wrote: Sun Mar 09, 2025 6:08 pmAnnoys me how so many teams now copy the Pies slow chant - noticed last few years this occurring - seriously - teams get your own thing going.

Sydney fans actually started the slow chant in the AFL… way back in 1996 at the SCG on a very wet and windy night. Still remember being drenched that night, but so so happy with the result. Pies fans copied Swans fans years later.

Re: Footy Crowds - 2025
Crowd of 19,248 - for Greater Western Sydney vs Collingwood today posted over at Big Footy.
Considering the forecast all week for heavy rain, a great crowd today Giants fans. The 11th biggest home crowd ever, and the 2nd biggest crowd for a non Sydney home game. Only the Collingwood Opening Round match last year surpassed this in terms of a record non Sydney Swans home game.

Oh seriously, the Collingwood chant has been going on since I can remember - as a little kid. It's famous and opposition hate it - Collingwood are known for it. Even a decree from the President not to start too early.

It also seemed to me to be a decent GWS crowd - better than last year I thought when it seemed overwhelmingly Collingwood fans.Beaussie wrote: Sun Mar 09, 2025 8:28 pmCrowd of 19,248 - for Greater Western Sydney vs Collingwood today posted over at Big Footy.

Re: Footy Crowds - 2025
Souths vs Dolphins crowd clearly fudged. NRL has form with the fudging of crowd numbers.
Storm CEO claims crowd figures inflated
MELBOURNE Storm chief executive Ron Gauci has declared crowd figures are commonly inflated to make clubs look better
