Don’t all clubs get grants or dividends from the AFL? I know the suns and giants still get over and above many others but all clubs get their entitlement don’t they? I still think it is unfair that my pies pay most and get less
yep all AFL clubs get Grants..
But it is so different to every club.. (its super strange how the AFL give there handouts.)
even to performing teams and well off teams, the grants differ..

GWS AND QLD CLUBS are approaching a 100 Million Annually

so the 2 QLD clubs & the grants , including the 2 GF's in the last 2 years & a premiership...paddle pop wions
have cost AFL house since 2011 ( when the thuns entered)
1.4 billion dollars

8-[

:hmm:

& thats conservative , as I expect the grants & thuns were sucking out a lot more then 33 mill PA each in the beginning.
wow
just wow :-k

so what is the average per club - as all clubs rightly get their share of revenue - and what did GWS and Suns and Lions get last year each? The difference would be interesting - but seriously, if that is how the AFL run their business and see this as a useful way to spend their money I am not sure why it would be too much of any issue - if it was stopping investment elsewhere I could understand. Better than asking the government to stump up for it.

I mean they are entitled to between 60-80m of it anyway.
Note: All clubs receive a base of $12.2 million.

Included in the total numbers are the following other distributions throughout the 2024 season, including, but not limited to: Travel subsidies, prizemoney, AFL membership-related distributions, AFL commercial partner payments, AFL-facilitated stadium payments and licensing distributions.

so seems every club get a share of the profits - and this varies based on various factors - one I assume if you are in a non-traditional state - althoughSwans seem to be doing okay. So whilst 100 million is a lot - on context across three clubs and compared to usual distributions they would get anyway - it is not a major amount - as Wookie pointed out - they are entitled to 60-80 mil anyway.

on Average The 3 Clubs are getting $15million more per club than other clubs (so its $45mill total above.)

i have no problem sharing in the profits its more Trying to build them into a FORCE Unfairly
for example LIONS, SWANS GWS
on field results are extremly Good.

I have no idea why some teams get mote than others - apart from those that can put a case to needing it more get more -- hence kangaroos - I don't think it is about on field performance more about needing the money - but probably other things that factor into it as well. But why do we care - it is how the AFL run their business - seems to work fine - biggest revenues of any football code - they must be doing something right.

You should care fwed
Flogball continues to hold up poorly performing clubs at the expense of others & they are found almost exclusively in NSW & QLD
they do this so they can tell their dopey fans how well they're going , when in fact .. they're STILL struggling in these states

there is no incentive for these clubs to pull their fingers out & become better business's because they know fumbleball house will cover their shortcomings , breeding mediocrity & as a result they never improve

The NRL gives the Sharks , the same $ as the Broncos
The Sharks are forced to perform well off the field as well as on it because they need to , to survive.

means nothing as long as they are being serviced. Debt is not in and of itself a bad thing.
