Yea
it was never going to be 500 million paid directly to the NRL anyway , most was the upgrade of HBF park (320) million
turning it into a 28K seater, with soccer & union benefitting as well
Literally.... Why is everyone spinning it like the WA Government is PAYING THE NRL for a TEAM

AFL already receive more money for Grassroots for AFL than NRL want ...

looking forward to the Election and than Government can sit down and chat with PVL about the team in full And Finalize

The Thugby will not receive a single dollar of taxpayers’ money, Roger Cook has vowed, buckling to pressure over negotiations in a last-minute campaign revelation. So the Thugby will have to pay more if they want to baby teddy bears in WA.

NRL was never going to receive any money..

NRL was asking WA to fund much needed developments into Rectangle Stadium
and Grassroots into Schools

Everything the AFL gets..

IN fact the AFL get $15mill per season from the Government in to Grassroots
The NRL has asked for $12 over 10 years (way less than the AFL)

No

you sure:

Mr Cook’s resolve against a fee to join the league came after revelations last month that he had last-minute talks with NRL boss Peter V’Landys days before the Government entered caretaker mode in February.

At the time it was reported the NRL was demanding a deal to bring a side west could be as high as $320 million, including an eye-watering license fee of $120 million.

Instead, the Government could offer support for upgrades at HBF Park, expected to be the home of the new side, as well as funding to community level sport across WA to grow the league.

Just because some dopey fumbleball jurno calls the development funding a license fee ... doesn't mean it is
because
it isn't
no license fee has been asked for

Yes i am sure,

PVL said it himself, they are wanting Refurbished Stadium and Grass roots for entry, nothing out of his mouth regarding License Fee
from the WA Government.

However, Premier Peter Cook has since hit back at these demands in late February when he said that he was willing to walk away from the deal, while claiming the NRL needed WA more than the state needed the code. So the Bum sniffers need the WA Government to be onboard before they can bring in the poo bears.

You're not too smart are ya skip? Peter Cook was an English comedian of the 60's and 70's. He played the fool a lot. Just like you do skip. Thing is he was putting it on lololololololol!!!!! Roger Cook on the other hand is the premier of WA.

Hope that helps skip. You really need to concentrate hard when posting skip. Lest you repeatedly make a fool of yaself.

Have a great day pal.

Yes, there seems to be a lot of articles outlining this as the issue - wanting the WA government to pay a fee. The premier has already stated he is happy to chip in rte: stadium upgrades and some money to grassroots - but a fee he has baulked at.

No they dont. The AFL received nothing from the state government.

The WAFC recieved 13.2m last year as part of their deal to leave Subiaco and move to Optus Stadium (this is guaranteed through 2028). Subiaco was on a peppercorn lease with the buildings owned by the WAFC.
