Re: Foxtel Sold
Foxtel are ripe to be taken down by competitors
The NRL rights deal to be negotiated soon & starting in 2028 will be the battle zone & the NRL will be the winners
If Stan /Ch9 want to cover all of the sports content & take foxtels highest rating sport off them , the damage would be fatal, so watch the new owners fight tooth & nail to keep the NRL rights.
The nations most watched sport is in the box seat

when its nearly 40 million more sets of Australian eyes , its ... the most watched fullstop fwed
a few more vicdumbians at the grounds screaming baaawwllll for 3 hrs is pretty much irrelevant when the gap is sooooo vast

Re: Foxtel Sold
AFL sell outs Australia wide. Anyway, it was a bit of baiting on my end - and that’s wrong of me - but you make it do damn easy lol. I guess everyone has their thing and yours, to your last dying breadth, will be to spread the gospel of the NRL….. well not even that … it will be “nrl is better than afl”lol
Anyway - it was my bad but let’s get back to the sale of Foxtel/

very sobering

Yes, to a sports orientated British entity.
First major task, I would think, is the NRL new broadcasting deal.
I wonder what would happen if no Australian companies put in a bid?
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.
Rugby league, Australias most popular game in some of North Eastern Australia.

Re: Foxtel Sold
What the new owners will be doing is having a very close look at a sport that has zero presence outside of Australia & is easily outrated by another in Australia.
They will be looking at what they're paying in this present deal & who needs to be moved on from their roles for signing a sport up that performs very poorly , & make an appropriate offer next time round

Re: Foxtel Sold
The NRL is kicking off its next rights negotiations early, chasing major dollars before the bubble bursts on the value of sports rights. Foxtel has the AFL locked in until 2031, and the same goes for its deal with Cricket Australia.Quolls2019 wrote: Thu Dec 26, 2024 10:25 amYes, to a sports orientated British entity.

Whichever way you shake it, the AFL is the larger sport in Australia. Its total average audience per game and viewership for the grand finals exceeds that of the NRL. The code also boasts a higher on ground attendance.
As for the NRL, it is streamed for free by more Australians than are games in the AFL. That’s largely because it’s been available for free on Nine’s video on demand service 9Now for quite some time. The AFL has only recently started streaming on Seven Network’s free digital on demand platform, 7Plus.

Re: Foxtel Sold
what a pathetic article.
Its well known the NRL Average is Higher than AFL on FTA AND FOX and Streaming..
how he goes on about NRL is only higher for streaming on FTA because 7plus was not available yet.
chasing Sporting deals before they burst
*NETFLIX" hello paying record dollars for NFL"
kicking off its negotiations early ?? AFL signed 3 year advance too..
this bloke should be replaced by AI

1st piece of BS in that BS article
The NRL had 160 million viewers for its 213 games in 2024 on Ch 9 & the foxtel group
Average per game
751K
the fumbling mess from Vicdumbia had
142 million for its 216 games
657K a game
RL can add another 20 million for its rep season , origin womens & men , pacific championships etc
the NRLW easily outrated the fumbing women too
all FTA streaming is free on 9 & 7 , what the eff has that got to do with anything

And where did this knob mention the hundreds of thousands of free kayo subscriptions with a mongball club membership , no doubt contributing hugely to the increase in fumbleballs ratings in 2024.
Not a word

there isn't a debate
skinnywhitetwerpball is so far behind the NRL & RL in general it isn't funny
