I really like the way Storm have started to get a tiny foothold - they’re accepted and most Victorians, when asked, would say they support the Storm. Also have a great location for their stadium right near the MCG and was great to be walking along the Yarra to a Pies game at the G and seeing and chatting to the Storm supporters. Melbourne is such a great place for sport. You’ll even get the Storm players and coach on AFL 360 from time to time - I think as the “code” wars really don’t exist like they do in nsw and qld - which most people are so past (soo 90s) and the nrl isn’t seen as a threat per se.

Well the NRL doesn't go around making silly claims about its sport in non traditional areas , when there was no fumbling & bumbling In Melb during gather round , did the NRL claim it was going to rob the AFLs house while they were away ?
Has never made inflammatory statements like it wants rugby league to eventually be the sport of choice for all Victorians .. ya know... shit like that

Unfortunately the same cant be said in reverse, & as a result the code wars were started 42 years ago by the fumbling game

oh by the way
they're losing

Yeah - fortunately the AFL doesn’t represent the Aussie rules states and the people that live there - hence the positive attitude to storm in Victoria and I suspect the Perth team when it comes in too. You’ll get the odd code war moron - usually older and living in the past but there are a few remnants of that in each code.

Yea , they've been hit with the golden feather during this final series , nothing on down there for their final against the Sharks , & it'll be the same for the prelim against either the Roosters or Manly the night before the stumbles & bumbles GF which is a Public Holiday in VIC.
Will sellout ... & will attract a monster TV audience
