If both could be a sell out it would be a win win. You’d think the titans suns, lions and broncos could be promoting this together given they are all on the GC (hold coast V Brisbane type vibe) I’ll be rooting for the gc teams to beat the Brisbane teams but don’t like my luck

Double header too for the titans - which is smart given how wnrl is going.

I will be there for the Titans clash.
the game was pretty much a sell out 3 weeks ago.
was a few seats scattered here and there.

a pity that none of the teams will make the 8

Sky is limit for the titans if they could be a finals team one day.

WOW

Simply amazing and the TEAM is 12th
NRL will certaintly lock in a south island bid team by 2028-2030

Mt Smart Stadium surley needs an upgrade.
35k stadium would be ideal
25k capacity is a touch to small.

Christchurch will be 25k to 30k

apparently Auckland has several plans in place for a new rectangular stadium with a capacity of around 50,000 to replace the aging Eden Park ... but they're still in their infancy & a long way off. The Warriors would move there when its built , but I agree a cheap stand to mirror the one at the Nthn end should be built lifting capacity to over 30,000 til the new stadium is finished.

the 20k Average the NRL have is in fact and can way more..
the amount of games played this season alone at stadiums with capacitys of 15k to 20k limits
has been huge and locked out many thousands of fans..

NRL can never really get much higher if they can continue to play at Stadiums that are not HIGH LIMIT

pure example

Dragons v Dogs this saturday
would Sell out SFS 45k in an instant.
but Dragons want home ground advantage
and will play at Home in Sydney's South with a capacity of 18k

this is where AFL gets its big big advantage
Big Games are played at a BIG Stadium.
and at the right time of year and teams in finals contention will demand big crowds.

NRL always misses this opportunity of big Sydney team v Sydney Team.

Theres been a campaign to move it , but it will fall on deaf ears
this is an area our game continues to lag behind & not put the games growth ahead of club vested self interest.

Our clubs are quite comfortable to lock their own fans out of games in an attempt to gain every advantage that their small suburban home ground gives them.
Dragons this week
Bulldogs last week
Dragons fans won't hear of a move believing Kogarah gives them an edge & thats that.

The NRL needs to take these decisions away from clubs & ensure every fan who wants to attend games won't be locked out of games.
Sure , they'll be a few misses doing this & some games will draw poor crowds that will look worse at the big venues

but it will be worth it in the long run as the attendance culture in the NRL continues to grow

The NRL is currently sitting at 3,155,743 fans for 2024 at an average of 19,243 per game
some 200,000 ahead of 2023 or 7% up

2024 has been one of the wettest winters in Sydney in decades , a years rain in the 1st 5 months of the year & the Broncos 1st 5 home games were all rain affected as well

there is no doubt we'd be above 20,000 for the H&A atm with normal amounts of rain fall , & as Leeroy says a lot of our clubs playing in tin pot little suburban shit holes doesn't help either
the scope for growth is huge in the NRL in this dept.

I remember when the AFL was moving toward ground rationalisation - there was a lot of complaints but it has served the game well. Maybe the NRL should take a leaf at the AFL model re: governing and take decisions away from clubs and put it in the hands of the NRL?

something needs to be done
the NRL & Venues NSW has already announced the Eora round for Allianz Stadium next year
3 games involving 6 Sydney teams over Friday , Saturday & Sunday
Roosters V Bulldogs
Souths V Parramatta
Tigers v Dragons

they're going to promote the hell out of this event , huge discounts for away members , a 3 game pass for travelling interstate fans or locals who want to attend all 3 games ...
full houses expected at all 3 games
this is what Sydney NRL clubs need to see to be encouraged that this is the future
