so
big day of fumbles n bumbles ... missing & giggling yesterday
all 3 games on FTA depending on where you were
Vic got the night game
330K on Ch 7 ... pretty average figures , got to say , just a continuation of the very mediocre numbers watching

the 2 day games were made to look like they were one game ( AFL ch 7 trick ) ... but it was 2
The game bigger the state of origin from Sydney .. NSW & the ACT got that one
The early game from Sadelaide , covered in SA & QLD

a combined total for those 2 games was...................207K

oh, dear , god 8-[

I mean ... what the hell ????? :hmm:

207K watching out of nearly .... 17 million people
yes theres some STV to add , but as we all know ... you don't need pay TV to watch the drops & oopsies outside of Vic to watch your local derps & tanktops .. its an unnecessary cost.

Fumbleball ..... not resonating

I never had Fox until I moved to QLD but had to get when moved so I could watch the Pies - as often not on free to air. Quite a few games aren’t shown on fta I think ? Obviously when games overlap they don’t show it. Yeah - but anyway - if you follow anyone else other than suns and lions you need pay tv I reckon - if you want to watch every game your team plays you definetely need it.

barely any game overlap these days ....&
if you watch every game you need it fwed ?

ah .... no you don't
if you follow the teams outside of Vic you do not need it at all ..... every game on FTA
economic times are hard , why would you pay for a free service if you don't need to ?
thats right , you wouldn't

STV ratings for the oopsies & misses outside of vicdumbia are ... an abomination
an embarrassment

any suggestion locals are padding exceedingly mediocre FTA ratings from these states is an absurdity

I’m pretty sure not all games are on fta up here. And there are plenty of games overlapping as well I thought - particularly now there is no Thursday night games for rest of season. Anyway - I’ll do some research and see if any games overlap but I thought you were just saying in the ratings thread that they combined two games shown at the same time ?? Anyway, no biggy I’ll have a look - I know on 360 they are always complaining about the scheduling of games and then overlapping.

Anyway that’s why I got Fox - never had it until I move up here as could watch all the games I wanted on fta in Victoria. But then I found myself having to watch the suns or lions when a pies game was on - or another game I wanted to watch - as those games take priority.

Okay - so next week - on Saturday there are two games at 1:45pm- one is the Swans - and if I’m in Sydney that will be shown on fta. If I want to watch the bulldogs play, who are on the same time. need pay tv.

you make it sounds like this happens every week fwed , like this explains the deplorable TV ratings for fumbleball & some ridiculous pointer to everyone watching games outside of Vic on STV
thats not happening ... there has been the least amount of overlapping games in the schedule ever in 2024
one example in the last 6 weeks means nothing fwed .... nothing
the 100 people in Sydney who want to watch the bumbling clowns from Melbourne on Sat won't count for a hill of beans

Origin II ratings in, down marginally on game one
3.263 Mill , the game was over at halftime so that would have affected the overall average
it was still however the highest rating game 2 since 2017.....

The Decider will be the highest rating game , certainly of this series & might push the 4 million mark

Great numbers for Australia's most watched sport. Will easily get to 10M for the 3 origins games this year. Tremendous result considering the two games so far have both been blow outs.

Rugby League is the winner.

Oh sorry - no - nothing to do with ratings - was just stating in response to when you said people in Qld and NSW don't need PayTV - my response was about how I had to get it as often missed the game I wanted to watch as the Suns or Lions were playing - and thus clashing with the game I wanted. I just looked at the next round and there was an example (the fixture on the AFL doesn't give times of games when you go back - just upcoming). Hence, I found by moving to QLD (and there are many who have) I have found a necesity for me to purchase Fox TV if I want to watch the games I want to.

So I had a look at next week - - So If I am in sydney and want to watch Richmond I have to have Pay as the game overlaps with the GWS game on the Saturday. Then you sunday - if I want to watch the Saints or Swans in Brisbane - I need Pay TV - and vice versa if I ant to watch Brisbane or Crows and am in Sydney - I need Pay TV.

Then we go to round 18 - same again - Sat - if I am a Hawks supporter and want to watch their game and live in sydney - have to have Pay TV. Same again on sunday - not even sure if either of these games are shown in Sydney or SEQ as no local team - but at best - only one is shown - so would need Pay TV if not shown. Same again the following week with GWS playing the Suns at the same time Saints playing the Eagles. I am only getting the Suns game in FTA -so have to have fox if I want to watch the other game.

Like I said
a tiny number of people relatively speaking
the vast majority of giggleball fans in NSW & QLD do not require pay tv ... fact !
so pay tv ratings add little to the appalling numbers for games involving the sides based there
