AFL appalled by NRL & Clubs Australia

Post by Beaussie »

Just saw Vlad give press conference and state how appalled he is in the behaviour of Clubs Australia and the NRL in trying to drag the AFL's brand into a battle with the Federal Government over pokie reforms in Grand Final week.

Bad form NRL and like Vlad says, shouldn't you be talking up your grand final rather than pokie revenue.. Fight your own battles in future will ya.

I have no doubt Ididaphoo would have indicated to the NRL secretly the AFL would support them
& then stab them in the back like the gutless turd he is .... & the sport he fronts is

we'll win this battle without them & we don't need to associate ourselves with such lowlifes & germs that infest the halls of that sport.

What would you expect the nrl and Clubs Australia to do? That is what they are all about...exploting the most vunerable people in Australian society by any means possible. Filthy parasites the nrl scum are.

What a pathitec thread for fight club!!! Eddie seems to be right behind RL. There are plenty of problems in Aust. Whilst ever poker machines are legal, this thread is a joke. Don't try a condone something by taxing it, yet suggest it is wrong when you (the govt) make it legal and make money from it. Whats next, more alco pops tax, no drinking at the game as there is acholics. Take some responsibility for your own actions and stop becoming Americans where everything is someone elses fault.

Parasites alright. Here's an idea NRL, how about working on actually attracting fans to your games rather than relying on the most vulnerable in our community to keep your code/clubs afloat. Disgraceful.

What a pathetic post. Since when is the suggested pokie reforms involving pre committment a tax? You're just as fucking stupid as the NRL and Clubs Australia. Stop making crap up, it doesn't help the debate.

Springwood ain't Vegas: Hunting for zilLIONS in a giant pokie den

As politicians, football bosses and anti-gambling groups butt heads over poker machine reform, Phil Lutton spends the morning on the frontline of the debate, amid the clinking coins and flashing lights of one of the state's biggest pokie lounges.

Opening last November, the new venture from the Lions was not built without a degree of controversy. Only now have the related issues, argued over in a media microcosm in the past few years, taken flight on a national scale.

The problem with the LIONS@Springwood venture wasn't its location but its contents. It had promised to add 200 new machines to an area already the most densely packed pokie precinct in the state. The backlash was as predictable as it was futile.

In 2009, figures showed 27 venues in the Logan area were bristling with a total of 1300 machines. Some in the community, like local councillor Sean Black, felt enough was enough. He was sailing against the wind - the Logan City Council approved the application with an 8-1 majority.
