NRL crowds in Sydney
The NRL should arrange for an NRL club in Sydney to play as a curtain raiser to the Swan”s home games - not only would they get to play in front of a decent crowd, they’d also save on stadium costs and the few supporters that do go for the nrl curtain raiser will get to see a decent game of footy and experience some atmosphere at a game / rather than that usual sense of playing at a local suburban ground.

Re: NRL crowds in Sydney
I think you should start with the lowest NRL crowds in Sydney, they could use an AFL type crowd, in fact for some rounds All the NRL games could be played as curtain raisers for the swans to ensure a decent crowd, a kind of unmagic round.truthbomber wrote: Sun Sep 10, 2023 10:19 amplay in front of a decent crowd ?Fred wrote: Sat Sep 09, 2023 9:55 pmThe NRL should arrange for an NRL club in Sydney to play as a curtain raiser to the Swan”s home games - not only would they get to play in front of a decent crowd, they’d also save on stadium costs and the few supporters that do go for the nrl curtain raiser will get to see a decent game of footy and experience some atmosphere at a game / rather than that usual sense of playing at a local suburban ground.

Out of 90 games only 8 regular NRL round games had crowds in excess of the lowest Swans home crowd for 2023 home season.
That says much more than the NRL just needs a crowd.
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.

But the giants may also benefit from a couple of double headers with the Swans.
Their Sydney NRL size crowds are certainly disappointing.
