Re: Dolphins making History
A strong Broncos has big effects on Lions.
Add in Dolphins and it is MEDIA EXCLUSION to few little sections (like Storm) in Melbourne)
LIONS had there Big time in the sun for 3 straight years of unbelievable success
while Broncos cowboys and titans sat at the bottom of the ladder..

Re: Dolphins making History
Lions got heaps of media prior to the broncos dolphins game - a lot of it due to the lions game being on at the same time. As noted- it led the Today show breakfast news on the day. Not saying there wasn’t a lot about the dolphins and broncos but to say it shut out any media on the lions is simply incorrect.

as when is the last time a sporting game had an issue like what happened at the GABBA
that is why..
nothing to do with the contest or game it self

if you listen to the right things and right media prints etc etc in Melbourne (STORM GET MASSIVE COVERAGE TOO)
the overall media landscape in reality they get very minimal and is like a pebble in the ocean

They are doing very, very well.
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.
Rugby league, Australias most popular game in some of North Eastern Australia.

Re: Dolphins making History
No Jesse Bromich last night ( their captain)
No O Sullivan
No Kafusi
No Milford
No Jesse Nui
they lost Jarrad Wallace during the game to a HIA
& at one point they STILL led the Cowboys 26-6 in front of 23,000 fans in Townsville , before holding on to win 32-22

WTF ?
who are these guys ?

he seems to be able to adapt to his environment seamlessly , wether that be in Canberra 36 years ago coaching a very different game & getting the Raiders into their first GF , to todays game with a ram shackle roster of misfits & no bodies as a 73 year old & still getting results.
9 Grand final appearances & 7 wins
He is iconic in our sport & Australian sport in general.

Re: Dolphins making History
be interesting what they can pull for the Thursday Night Game against Souths..
if they get 25k that is a real good effort.

Re: Dolphins making History
so
not content with their amazing start to their NRL journey , the Dolphins say
lets throw in a record comeback into the mix eh ?
down 0-26 to the Titans just before halftime
they decide , yea thats enough of a lead
lets run em down
equalling the biggest come back in NRL history which was Penrith V Nth Qld in 1998
best debut season ever , & let me tell you the Storms in 1998 was pretty memorable but the Phins take the title
