Dominated by region (europe) of world which comprises less than 10% of the earth's population. World cup like European cup.

I meant your comment re: dominated by region. Whilst Europe did dominate the teams, there was a good spread of countries across the world with every inhabited continent represented. Remembering the World Cup is the finals with participants having to fight their way through to just compete. 4 from Asia is a good sign (same as South America I think) and 4 from North America (which considering isn't broken up into numerous small countries like Europe is, is pretty good. And of course 1 good ole Aussie team. There is no doubt that soccer is the world game, not my game, but the world game nonetheless.

I really enjoyed the world cup. It's a shame Australia never won the rights to host it though.
It is the world game, is the only football code on earth where every country on Earth has a nation team.
Give me a game of football over a game of AFL any day.
