The racism problems in this sport should have been addressed long ago .
A few token fixes while AFL big shots such as McChins &Calvin Shoddy can make all the racist remarks they like with no penalty .
When you have a compliant media & let’s do a deal police force then the problem is never addressed .
Look at the result of the one whitey parent fiasco .

I am anti-hate, the AFL as we have once again discovered is a bastion of hate and racism.

The NRL has it's issues too so do not call the AFL that with a straight face. Hate and racism is endemic in Australian society across the board and we need to stamp it out good and proper.

A good start would be what is happening - the AFL conducting the independent investigation into what happened and who was involved; Clarkson and Fagan stepped down from their current roles for the duration along with anyone else named as involved and everything gone through with a fine tooth comb.

If Clarkson and Fagan are found guilty they are done, as they should be.

My personal opinion, for what it is worth, is that this is a serious topic and concern, and if what is reported is true, and I suspect it is, it is deeply concerning and appropriate actions need to be taken, including the coaches and administration involved banned from being part of the sport. I do cringe where I see this appalling set of events being used to further some code war rhetoric as part of an outdated agenda on a suitably outdated forum where a category exists for such things, but I do hope we can look at the broader issue of racism that rides rough shot across much of the broader community and, therefore across various sporting codes. I think we can and need to be better than to use this appalling set of events to further some course of my code of football is better than mine. And I would call on beaussie and Wookie and others to comment more so to be insightful and to further the discussion on this very important issue. We have yo be better - and we can start to do so by having a mature and sensible discussion here.
