While Seven and Foxtel are hopeful of clinching a deal as soon as this week, Paramount and Nine have not been told they are out of the running and remain in talks with the league.truthbomber wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 5:41 pm when will you lar lar land dwelling fumbling halfwits get it through your heads

This masthead reported several weeks ago the AFL had received non-binding offers from incumbents Foxtel and Seven, Paramount and Nine.

Me too. I only have Kayo for the AFL. Will feel even better knowing I’m not supporting Murdoch too.Fred wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 9:50 am If Paramount get the deal then I would be having to drop my foxtel - as the only reason I have it is for the footy. Foxtel would have to consider that surely - many people are going to have to decide which one to drop as already have a couple of streaming services. So the cost of not having the AFL to Fox would be quite large I think.
"One in every 24 Australians is now a member of an AFL club, a sign that the national reach of Australian football has never been greater," League CEO Gillon McLachlan said.

I would like to see a new player in the mix, but we will just to wait and see.
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.

Re: Streaming companies want to broadcast AFL
Channel 7 and Fox are confident deal will be done before end of month..
channel 7 will get streaming to there big matches per week. (with fox agreeing)
FOX look to have up to 5 exclusive games per week.. (WOW) on par with NRL)
it states FOX will be paying more than previous deal,
where as nothing on CH7 >>>> which look to get less content.
Big changes coming

exactly what I said would happen
foxtel pay more ( confirmed in the article) for a format change & a significant one ( they're expecting lots of new subscriptions outside of Vic)... but not quite as much as it would have been if 7 didn't get the streaming
but if 7 didn't get the streaming
then they'd of paid less then they do now because they have simply lost content
now, they will pay about the same
Foxtel about 250 mill pa (up 30 mill pa)
7 about 146 mill
telstra the same ... 50 mill
450 mill PA
pretty much what we leaguies have been predicting all along
