I agree with you Leeroy.

But the thing is in the AFL states footy is extremely popular yet in the Rugby League states Rugby League is not really that popular at all except when Origin is on.

So percentages on that.
Petey, Petey, Petey.............dear oh dear.............how can a bloke be so studid: "...in the Rugby League states Rugby League is not really that popular..". This is possibly the most idiotic statement of all time pal lolololololol.

Pete ya silly dill, RL is the most watched sport in NSW & Qld by the length of the milky way. In fact, as you know, it out rates fumbling in all of Australia year after year. There is a strong argument that RL is more popular in the educated states than fumbling is in Vic and the desert states lololololol.

I won't make that argument as I'm not as stupid as you. What I will state is that RL is far and away the most popular sport in NSW/Qld as is fumbling in the southern developing states.

I hope this helps you not make such a dill of yaself into the future Petey boyo. Have a great day pal!!!!

yes AFL states are well attended and well watched on tv

Rugby League is popular though is just better to watch on Tv than Attend.
Majority of games in Sydney are played at stadiums that fit 15k to 20k
Panthers are getting 16-18k every game, which is a sell out..

the atmosphere a 16k crowd produces at rectangle Ground is actually quite good.

put 16k at Olympic Park and it is a joke.

If RL was so much better to watch on TV then why such crowds at SoO - with the crowds making the atmosphere what it is.

that is easy and simple to answer
for example in Sydney.

You have all the fans of the clubs which combine to attend the game to support your state in a series.
which brings the support of rugby league fans in numbers to "ONE TEAM"

which than brings in big numbers on Tv..

There is thing called the Barrassi line which splits footy states from Rugby League states. You guys should look it up because I am pretty sure Northern Territory is in the footy zone not the NRL zone. Facts are facts.
drawn by an ignorant fumbler no doubt

needs to be re drawn, with NT firmly ours now
wave it bye bye fumblers

bye bye NT

Average attendance at Marrara for the AFL - 9521
https://afltables.com/afl/crowds/vn_marrara_oval.html
(Top attendance - 14100)

Average attendance at Marrara for the NRL - 9147
https://afltables.com/rl/crowds/marrara_vn.html
(Top attendance - 12056)

Number of Aussie Rules clubs in the NT - 51 (not including the remote indigenous competitions)
Number of Thugby League clubs in the NT - 15
(Manually counted)

Aussie Rules first - daylight second.

Terry and TBomb are lying out of sheer desperation, especially as Aussie Rules derives from an indigenous game (Marn Grook) while Thugby League is a British import! The First Australians always preferred Aussie Rules over the other codes. A few might go over to another code, but the majority stay!

You're showing ancient history pal. What the uber intelligent RL posters here are pointing out is that RL is getting stronger year by year and fumbling is well........stumbling in the NT lololololol!!

The last two years avg crowds for RL - 10k and 12.5k.
The last two years avg crowds for fumbling 6.5k and 5k.

Massive win to Rugby League. And club numbers don't count. If they did you would be saying soccer is the most popular football code in the land. It ain't.

Two years means nothing. Where are the participation numbers? If it was so popular how come Aussie Rules is played more than three times as much as thugby league?

Because it's not.

No RL at all on the Tiwi Islands or in the Maningrida or any other indigenous community.

Aussie rules wins. Like it or not.

You do better to show the game is actually desirable. Two NRL games over the last two years means nothing, and only in Darwin as well. Where are your games in Alice Springs hmm? Over the same period the AFL played 4 games in Darwin alone - add 2 in the Alice. And where is it in the communities?

I rest my case. RL loses. You lose.

22K fans watching the NRL in Darwin & about half that number watching the aflol & it

doesn't mean a thing :-k
    :(/ :(/ :(/

The NRL has taken Darwin with huge numbers of " easterners " moving there in recent years
Darwin has 165K of the NT's 253K population

leaving only desert dwellers left for the fumblers .... they can have them
NT is RL's now

say bye bye to the NT fumblers

Bye bye NT

bye bye
