The Queensland Sport and Athletic Centre did have a master plan to alter the playing surface to accomodate Australian Rules, would be a convenient possibility. ... /#drawings

"One in every 24 Australians is now a member of an AFL club, a sign that the national reach of Australian football has never been greater," League CEO Gillon McLachlan said.

I think this will be good for AFL and Cricket - ensure the test still comes to Brisbane and brings it in line with other AFL venues. Will be good for the Olympics obviously and most importantly will create jobs. The only issue I hear is that infrastructure, of which there appears heaps, seems focused along the eastern sea board - particularly roads.
