of course Metro is where the money is, as you got the biggest cities representing it..

though do not doubt Regionals they are growing a fast rate
as regional areas in NSW and QLD come with alot more Infrastructure and wealth which is only growing

Oh yeah, expect the next broadcast right to see some serious interest and $$$ coming from the regional affiliates like Prime, WIN or Southern Cross.

Ever noticed the quality of advertising when in a regional area lol. The local butcher or fruit market advertising must pay some serious coin for those kind of ads. lol

Well that’s why media buyers focus on metro figures. That is where the money is. It’s a concentrated market with great reach. Regional areas are spread across a wide area. 40 seconds on prime Albury is worth a lot less than 30 seconds on prime metro. There’s a reason for that. When media buyers sell blocks of time they throw in the regional as steak knives to the big companies/buyers.
100%

OzTAM metros are what the networks look to along with media buyers looking to sell advertising. Everyone knows that.

Okay - metro - can be categorised as one market. Regional is a broad market covering a very large area.

which is true..

Advertisers target Metro as one as this controls 67% of the population

Advertisers target Regional areas differently and would be split into many categories.
But it is not hard to do either.
especially for SOO or G.F's where you have big companies advertising nationally
still overall big dollars in some regional markets.

You’re missing the point - it’s not the number it’s the wide area that takes in that area. So when you are looking at selling advertising that is really important. You could double it - that’s not the point if it’s a really big area. Having 10 million covering all regional Australia is not the same as, or as good as, 5 million in a 50 klm radius

its the overall size of the cohort & there is nothing else that matters

within that cohort you identify what these people like
what they're like
what they will respond to & then you sell product based on this during TV shows

RL is the sport that resonates with the 3rd... & 4th largest cohorts/ markets in the country
Regional NSW/ACT
& Regional QLD

just a fact folks

Nah. I’ve never heard or seen anyone debate the nightly news battle for instance, between WIN and Prime news in regional NSW. Seven news vs Nine news in Perth on the other hand matters and is discussed regularly. It’s just the way it is. No one really cares for the regionals.
