The article does not say they are broke…their business model is interesting.
They are paying their debt payments, and have just paid an extraordinary amount for IPA, upfront apparently.
So….
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.

So you are saying no-one will bid for AFL?
No-one will bid more.
Only the current partners are bidding?
As always you are a bit all over the place except you are totally anti AFL.
So enlighten us, exactly what are you predicting?

I said you thick as shit clown

no one is offering 600 mill PA

ive had my say at what I think will occur
a rise akin to inflation 5% , around 20 mill more pa
nothing more, there is no justification for more
no more content , getting whopped by the NRL

Ch7 & foxtel have made their offers already I'd say & this is what they've offered
the aflol want more
they won't get it
no other genuine bidders exist

end of

I really hope the massive Channel 10/Paramount+ bid gets up. I’m tired of Channel 7’s coverage of the game and Ten did a good job last time they had the rights.

Big payday for sure, whoever wins the rights, with even News Corp’s The Australian reporting the $3b bid from Channel 10/Paramount+.

Report: 10 bids $3b for AFL rights
10 reportedly wants all the rights, including digital rights, some matches on 10 and the remainder on Paramount+.

10 has bid a record $3b for AFL rights according to a media report.

The Australian reports 10 is understood to have told AFL executives it would be keen to have all the rights, including digital rights, telecasting some matches on its main free-to-air channel and the remainder on Paramount+ streaming.

Incumbents Foxtel and Seven are still considered favourites to maintain their package of rights, but the AFL hopes the 10 offer, which sources say is worth $600m annually over at least five years, will ignite a bidding war.

Foxtel and Seven had previously clinched a record $2.508bn deal with the AFL for six years from 2017, though the terms for Covid-affected years were later reduced when the pandemic hit.

The AFL hopes to secure a deal by the end of July or early August.

10 and an AFL declined to comment.

What’s the issue with Paramount streaming? I don’t have it, but have heard there are issues with their soccer coverage. Is that what you mean? Surely any issues would be addressed for a major code like the AFL.

Like you, I’d be dumping Fox/Kayo in an instant with no AFL, as I don’t watch anything else on there. Would dump Telstra as my telco too as I only stay with them for the AFL/Kayo deal.

right there.. thats the kicker ..
its just a Saturday morning wank story & there is no substance to it,
on what planet would anyone offer 600 mill for 9 games a week for a sport performing as poorly as the aflol , that rates like a turd in half of the country , that can't get within cooee for eyeballs against another sport in the same market , that is on approx 400 mill pa for 8 games a week.

this hilarious attempt to lever more out of foxtel & 7
( im certain they've tendered their offers & its not a great deal more then the present amounts paid )
is great entertainment & the fumblers lapping it up is every better entertainment     :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/
