For an NRL RL dominant town the fact it is that close says a lot about the Titans.

No one ever said that the suns were going to be popular on the Gold Coast especially considering that it is Rugby League territory but in truth is not really a sport city at all. I mean surfing is the most popular sport there.

Although in saying that if they start making finals & God forbid win a premiership then who knows how popular they might become. Winning a premiership in the most popular sporting competition in the country would be a huge achievement.

Titans in contention for the finals & no Thursdays .. 16K average
Thuns less then 11K

Thuns in last place & 2 Thursday nights ... 6K average
Titans over 12K

don't go near the TV ratings fumblers

it aint a contest

Yeah - as said - don't put too much credence in membership numbers. Count only full year memberships and okay. But these 1 game (NRL), 3 game etc are silly.
full season members should only Qualify

11 AFL game members
12 NRL game members
I don't disagree, membership should be based on home games to a value of 1 for home games normal membership. But both clubs play home games away from home. I am a member of southport, only been to 2 games over five years, $5 annual membership. Cheap beer, cheap meals, been there 10 times all over summer, counted as a full member of the footy club. There is membership and then there is “membership”.
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.
Rugby league, Australias most popular game in some of North Eastern Australia.

I’m a member of Southport too. Get the 4 cents off of fuel c will go watch the footy sometimes on the TV and sometimes just a meal - but not often. Used to go to the Cabana Lounge a bit.

Be interesting with the Suns due for two massive home games re : crowds and titans languishing. If suns win today it will make their tilt at finals more realistic and crowd numbers should follow.

Again, not saying afl is dominant on Gold Coast but does show how poorly followed Titans are.

And yes there will be a lot of Pies supporters at the game (same happens with titans opposition fans) but many of those will be suns members and back next week to barrack for the Suns against the Tigers.

The only people on the GC who'll get excited are the ex pat sthn mongs who are the ones that only ever get excited anyway..
All other sports fans on the GC & everywhere else north of the tweed river will be focused on what Billy Slater & his Maroons will do in Perth tonight.
I'd doubt many would even know the thuns were playing today ...or care

it is hard to say the TITANS are poorly followed.. this is a team that has sucked for 12 years of its 14 year existence.
