Wow! another big win on Sunday
The way were traveling i wouldn't be surprised if we gave the 20m winning margin a nudge this year.
Gold, Gold, Gold with more gold to come. Our future really does look GOLDEN

AFL on FOX is really second fiddle to NRL this year.

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
I think Fox pay more for other reasons over and above ratings - I think the air time AFL fills is also an important factor. Can't really think of any others. The whole " gain subscriptions in AFL markets" doesn't seem to have materialised.

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
FOX thought by having all 9 games over a period of time, and having all teams in each state, subs would lift dramatically.Fred wrote: Tue May 17, 2022 12:34 pmI think Fox pay more for other reasons over and above ratings - I think the air time AFL fills is also an important factor. though tv ratings have not lift to that level of satisfaction..
This is where FOX has realised the FTA deal into each state is hurting them more than they thought
NRL rates a clear 1 on STV and a clear 1 on Stream.

Yes, I only have fox as the games I want to watch are not on fta up here. Why would you get fox in Melbourne for instance.

numbers on STV mean subscriptions , the main way $$ are earntFred wrote: Tue May 17, 2022 12:34 pmI think Fox pay more for other reasons over and above ratings - I think the air time AFL fills is also an important factor. different to FTA where it is advertising $$
if your deal is not set up to " force " fans to subscribe then it doesn't work as efficiently as it could .
If you live outside Victoria then why would you subscribe at all if you follow any of the 8 teams not in Victoria
you get every game for those 8 clubs on FTA
This won't please foxtel & they won't pay more until it is fixed
If it is fixed
Ch 7 will say they lose out , & they won't pay more
its a right pickle
enjoy

I subscribe to watch the Pies. Also some games I want to watch aren’t shown on FTA - which sees me subscribe.

If you barrack for the Suns, and only the Suns, live on the Gold Coast, and every game is broadcast live on the Gold Coast, there is no reason to subscribe to PTV. Or, come to think of it, go to the game if the forecast is for rain.
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
Unless ratings isnt the primary measure. Fox would know the number of unique viewers they have tune in and what they watch. Its entirely possible that ratings dont reflect the subscription picture accurately.leeroy*NRL* wrote: Tue May 17, 2022 11:53 amAFL on FOX is really second fiddle to NRL this year.

And it's entirely possible they do. Talking in possibilities is meaningless. Fox knows this.Gone wrote: Wed May 18, 2022 9:49 amUnless ratings isnt the primary measure. that is like saying why would you get FOX in Sydney ??Fred wrote: Tue May 17, 2022 1:49 pmYes, I only have fox as the games I want to watch are not on fta up here. Why would you get fox in Melbourne for instance.
Rugby League 3 FTA games per week into Sydney
AFL 3 to 4 if a Thursday Game is on >> FTA into Melbourne
5 to 6 games on FOX into melbourne
5 games on FOX into Sydney..
there is actually a more incentive for Melbourne fans to get fox. just as much as Sydney folk
