Data obtained by TV Blackbox reveals Saturday night’s Foxtel/Kayo exclusive Tigers v Storm game was #1 NRL regular season game of all-time on subscription television with an average audience of 547K.

SO THAT IS 240k in Streaming alone for this game..

Streaming has went another level this year..

436k average, total Fox group ratings for the NRL for Round 1 were 3.488m, plus about 1.7m on FTA for more than 5m viewers for the first round.

Overall, Round 1 of the new 2022 season was the highest performing regular season NRL Round of all-time for the Foxtel Group with an average result of 436K nationally.

This figure was up +15% on corresponding 2021 R1 (378K)

If Aflol played a game in China then they'd easily get a massive ratings boost if the Chinese viewers were counted .

Very soft ratings for the fumbling game. They've really gotta get huge numbers for these marquee games as their comp is one dimensional V the 3 dimensional RL season. At this early stage I'm calling it for another smashing win to RL in the years ratings lololololol!!!!!

• Gogglebox beats out NRL and AFL for top non-news program

• NRL was top non-news program in Sydney and Brisbane
• AFL brings in a huge Melbourne audience to be #1


Total TV Ratings, March 10

Gogglebox was the top non-news program in the total TV ratings with 981,000 viewers, up 23% on its overnight TV ratings.

The first round of the AFL continue as a new look Carlton Blues defeated the Richmond Tigers. The match had 473,000 viewers, with a robust 302,000 tuning in from Melbourne, making it the top program of the night in the city.

The NRL had 340,000 viewers tune in for an instant classic as the Melbourne Storm defeated the South Sydney Rabbitohs in overtime to gift their coach Craig Bellamy the win in his 500th game. The match had 199,000 tune in from Sydney which made it the top non-news program in town. The game was also the top non-news program in Brisbane with 103,000 viewers.

NRL will most likely have higher Regional and Streaming.. which will close the gap.
