but yeah, thats a thorough enough sample eh      :(/ :(/ :(/
Take 150k viewers away from Melbourne's ratings and it still easily beats a.number of NRLs FN ratings.

of course there are some on here claiming the AFL have an advantage on Saturday night by showing 2 games at once because the games are targeted to multiple markets. Enter exhibit A, last night's single game targeting Melbourne only (Rich v Ess) but shown nationally.

•TOTAL average: 1.09m
-Free to air, national: 890k
>5 city: 675k
~Syd: 23k (7mate)
~Melb: 466k
~Bris: 25k (7mate)
~Adel: 58k
~Per: 102k (7mate)
>Regional: 215k
-Foxtel: 200k

So how is that theory working out for you boys? Fox and FTA averages for a single games miles up on previous Saturdays with concurrent games.

:\: :\: :\: :\: :\:

Ummmm........Melbourne's in lockdown pal. There's ya uptake right there. You really must do better!!!

as I said above, if you minus 150k ratings from Mel, which more than accounts for the increase due to lockdown, we still rate 940k. This figure beats most of the NRL's TH and FR games :\:

but lets do an apples for apples hypo for our fumblers & see if they win the accumulative totals like they say they would shall we
using some of this weekend but not all because there are huge factors at play like the lockdown etc

if the fumblers had exactly the same coverage we do for their season ..
3 fta/stv games telecast nationally & 6 exclusive stv games for their 23 rounds .. none overlapping

we aren't going to give them an 890K av for the FTA telecast nationally as they've got on FN & last night because of the lock down , but we will give them 740K factoring in a heap of things , nrlol said himself that a 150K reduction is fair.
& we will acknowledge the spike in STV ratings for this weekend when theres no overlapping & increase their 219K stv average when there is overlapping to say 300K factoring in all sorts of things like teams playing etc

we get an accumulative season total for the fumblers of
FTA
69 X 740K = 51.060 Mill
STV
198X 300K = 59.400 Mill

H&A total 110.4 Mill

the NRL speculative total
FTA
78 X 500K = 39 mill
STV
192X 386K = 74.115 Mill

H&A total of 113.1 Mill

then theres finals
they may make up the 3 mill difference there over the 9 games , maybe.

but then
we have our rep season

even with all the fumbler excuses , RL cannot be beaten

Well you can’t do apples for apples if the first thing you do is factor out weekends for one code no matter what the reason.
However it is clear that NRL are way ahead in PTV and streaming and AFL in FTA.
There must be good reasons for it and I am sure the broadcasters are looking for them!
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.

So your claim about poor scheduling compared to ours is complete hogwash. The proportion of games involving top 8 and outside 8 teams is fairly similar overall.

Great post. Factual. Research based. Incontrovertible.

Add in 3 SOO and 3 international games to equal the number of fumble games and its gonna be a right Royal thrashing handed to the fumbling game!!

they are higher in my calculations .. by 33%
& if sides lost out in the FTA scheduling like a lot of NRL sides do , the networks like big rating sides in prime time forcing fans to STV to compensate , then you would lose FTA ratings as a trade off just like the NRL has.
nope
that table is about right

1. Adelaide v crows yesterday was exclusive to fox except for Adelaide. It rated 280k despite being on at 4.30pm and featuring 15th v 16th.

2. Yesterday and TH/FR games show our isolated games rate not that much less than the NRL's. It wouldnt be 33%

3. your hypothetical is based on your guesses. Actual evidence is available in yesterday's ratings results

in apples for apples taking out all the advantages & disadvantages
the NRL probably still wins & RL certainly wins

Actual evidence is available in yesterday's ratings results
thats one game

one

the 300K average is for the entire season
198 games & like i said
if you want that number to go up

your FTA comes down
