FTA
AFL 484 + regionals

NRL 289 + regionals
Another FTA win for the AFL.
Thanks for that pal. Now for a reality check:

NRL total ratings Sun 905k. 452k Avg.
AFL total ratings Sun 1123k. 374k Ave.

Another smashing win by the great 'ol girl Rugby League. And that is with fumbling's main state under house arrest and no streaming yet. When those numbers come in it's gonna be a right royal thrashing handed out!!!!!

Just noting - averages are misleading when you have games overlapping. They need to be distinct separate events or you need to do some adjusting to account for the overlap. Also, means on their own tell us nothing - a mean without reporting the Standard Deviation is pointless as you need to have variance. Therefore if you have the numbers 1, 9, 20 the mean is 10 - whereas if you have 10,11,9 you have the same mean but obviously different variance or spread.

And so it continues. The tiring whining of the but but but fumblers. I actually made a thread for this kind of trash. Please use it fumblers and keep this thread for the actual TV ratings as the heading says!!!!

By one survey. On the other hand.

Hahahaha!!! Roy Morgan polls are pointless for something like TV viewers when you've got actual TV rating organisations.

And fumbling numbers should be up by a squillion in 2020 with the main state under house arrest for most of the season!!!!

TV ratings are based on a literal survey by oztam of around 10,000 households, the Roy Morgan survey is based on more than 61,000 people.

Soooo
Yep. And for oztam it's their sole purpose for existing. They also have problems but they're massively more reliable than a Morgan slap up poll.

Yep. On the one hand they're saying how good AFL ratings are by using 2020 numbers. Then on the other hand they are comparing 2021 numbers to 2019 to hide this years massive drop off!!!!!!!

What I am saying is simply fact. It’s not a debate. Do with it what you will. It’s simple statistics. Don’t cry when you think others are fudging the facts though.

And tv ratings are just one measure. Doesn’t mean most popular no more than who gets bigger crowds, or who gets higher memberships.

May be those with ratinf boxes who usually go to games are home watching... increasing the ratings significantly. Sure there would be people with rating boxes home that would usually be at something else but then those people would have to choose to watch the footy. But it does beg the question with the afl large crowds... surely some of those who attend would have set top boxes ... as the nrl gets low crowds generally this is less likely to have an impact. It’s just a thought so don’t go silly rebuffing the point. And they do say nrl people prefer yo watch on tv.
